UNLV sophomore linebacker Bryce Salid remains hospitalized in California, but continues to improve following a skateboarding accident earlier this month that left him in serious but stable condition.
Saldi, a product of powerhouse Southlake Carroll High in suburban Dallas, played in all 12 games last season for the Rebels, mostly on special teams.
The accident occurred on July 3, while Saldi was on vacation. He is currently in intensive care at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
"We are encouraged by the progress Bryce has made as he continues to battle back from a terrible accident," UNLV coach Mike Sanford said in a statement. "His Rebel football family is thinking of him every day and our thoughts and prayers go out to Bryce and his family."
Updates on Bryce's status are available through the Caring Bridge web site at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/Brycesaldi/guestbook.
