Former UNLV guard Kevin Kruger is getting a tryout with the Utah Jazz in the Orlando, Fla., summer league.

Two years ago, Kruger was the final player cut from the Orlando Magic’s roster. Last year, Kruger played in Bulgaria and returned to Las Vegas before the season ended.

When he was finally released from that contract, he played for the Utah Flash of the NBA Development League. Kruger also played for the Flash in 2007-08.

Rebels coach Lon Kruger, on the East coast recruiting, dropped into Orlando to see his son Sunday night but Kevin Kruger, who rolled an ankle last week, played sparingly.

“He was limited last night,” Lon Kruger said from Florida. “If he’s healthy to play tonight we’ll see what happens.”

Utah is not fielding a team to compete in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which starts Friday at the Cox Pavilion.
