Ex-Rebel Lawrence in trouble in Idaho

Former UNLV guard Marcus Lawrence, who transferred to Idaho, is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing for felony malicious injury in Latah County on Tuesday.

Lawrence, a Bishop Gorman High graduate, kicked a 1987 BMW during a Nov. 16 argument at a party and caused more than $1,600 in damage, according to David Duke, an assistant police chief in Moscow, Idaho.

Lawrence was booted off the Rebels basketball team in February after he was charged with driving under the influence. After sitting out this season, per NCAA transfer rules, he'll have two seasons left to play for the Vandals.

The 5-foot-10 point guard was also cited, Duke told the Associated Press, for petty theft earlier this month when a woman reported her iPhone had been stolen at a party. Police found the phone in Lawrence’s possession.
