Cher onstage at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace.
Happy Birthday and greetings from all of our Vegas DeLuxe readers to superstar singer Cher as she celebrates her 63rd birthday onstage tonight during her Caesars Palace concert at The Colosseum.
The legendary diva has maintained a low-key presence here in Las Vegas during her resident concert run and hasn’t been spotted at our Strip nightclubs. She has been seen a few times at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in the nearby Forum Shops at Caesars.
Cher, however, did stun a Mandalay Bay audience two weekends ago in a concert salute to record producer David Foster. She showed up wearing a leather motorcycle jacket and little else except what’s left to the imagination covered by lacey, see-through fabric and fishnet stockings. It was a similar, strappy, sequined bikini-styled bodysuit that she wore 20 years ago(!) for her video for “If I Could Turn Back Time.”
The media shrieked headlines about the sexy showcase, with fashion and fitness editors marveling at her amazing appearance -- in thigh-high leather boots and garter belt snaps for her stockings -- ahead of her 63rd birthday!
Next month, Cher will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her debut Caesars Palace performance. Her current concert schedule runs through May 24, with a return Sept. 19 running until Dec. 20 on a four-day-a-week schedule. It was a year ago that Cher began her three-year contract, in which she’ll perform some 200 concerts through 2010.
