Lance Armstrong in the Palazzo's presidential suite.

* Lance Armstrong checked into a presidential suite at the Palazzo and dined immediately in Wolfgang Puck’s new CUT restaurant. During his jam-packed 18-hour visit, the seven-time Tour de France winner met several wounded Iraq war veterans who had been flown into Vegas to stay at the Palazzo as owner Sheldon Adelson’s guests. Lance then chatted at the sister Venetian resort hotel about the Global Cancer Awareness campaign that he heads up.

* Gorgeous Miss America Kirsten Haglund arrives in Vegas this week to check out the advance plans for January’s 2009 pageant -- and I’m going to take her on a secret shopping spree in one of her rare free moments on her crowded reigning year calendar. Kirsten will turn over her crown at the end of January when the new competition is held once again at the Planet Hollywood resort casino.

Common and Pharrell

* Hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams launched his Billionaire Boys Club clothing line with a dazzling display at the tri-story Barneys New York department store at the Palazzo. He posed for photos and mingled with a crowd of excited fans -- including recording star and actor Common and hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash. Pharrell returned to the Palazzo after his Mandalay Bay concert to continue celebrating in the new Lavo restaurant and club.

* At the Palms’ N9NE Steakhouse was Denver Nuggets basketball star Dahntay Jones, who stuck to cranberry juice and Fiji water with his rock shrimp, organic chicken, mac and cheese sides, creamed corn and lobster mash -- topped off with house-made carrot cake.

Kelly Clarkson gets the key to Playboy.

* Over at the Palms, "American Idol" singing sensation Kelly Clarkson was presented with a gold key necklace to the Playboy Club. Playboy beauties Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt joined Kid Rock, the Rev Run, Drew Gooden and Palms owner George Maloof for the fun festivities.

* As predicted here on Friday, actress Lindsay Lohan did turn up with the girl she’s going to marry, DJ Samantha Ronson, at the Palms resort hotel. They checked into one of owner George Maloof’s Fantasy Tower suites and Lindsay remained out of sight while Samantha performed her post midnight DJ duties in the Rain nightclub. The lovers admitted last week they are “in a serious relationship” and planned to marry under California’s same-sex marriage laws. The twosome will be back in Vegas in November but won’t be in such a hiding mode since they will appear together at Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace.
