* Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez brought singer husband Marc Anthony to Vegas to celebrate his 40th birthday -- and they wound up renewing their marriage vows at 3:15 a.m. Sunday in their penthouse suite at Caesars Palace. We first had that story less than five hours after the secret ceremony. They partied at the Pure nightclub for three hours while waiting to find a minister to perform the service!
J-Lo and Marc’s romantic weekend -- sans their 8-month-old fraternal twins, Max and Emee -- began with a visit to "Mindfreak" magician Criss Angel’s new Cirque du Soleil "Believe" show at the Luxor. Backstage afterward in his dressing room they told Criss: “It was a beautiful emotional magical journey and we’re definitely coming back to see it again.” Their friend, New York Mets superstar Carlos Beltran, who later became one of their marriage renewal witnesses, was with them, and Criss took them to celebrated with Cristal champagne at the LAX nightclub, where the couple danced cheek-to-cheek to the sounds of DJ Hollywood. Criss also entertained them in the nightclub’s exclusive Noir bar. The night was still young so J-Lo and Marc, along with her mom by this time, who would become another marriage renewal witness, turned up at the Bank nightclub in the Bellagio and were so hungry they ordered from the adjoining FIX restaurant. For the record, J-Lo stuck to water and Marc had a single Coors Lite beer.
The next night, J-Lo and Marc, her family and Carlos Beltran all piled into the Vegas Pussycat Dolls lounge at Caesars Palace, and Marc even danced along to the Pussycat Dolls performance. They then moved over at midnight to the Pure nightclub main stage beds -- and the hunt began for a minister to perform the marriage renewal ceremony. By 3 a.m. they’d rounded up the Rev. Steven Smith and they all went upstairs to their new Forum Tower suite at Caesars for the ceremony! Incidentally, they were the first guests to stay in the new super-suite! Congratulations to the newlyweds – again!
* Superstar singer Celine Dion took a few days' break from the North American leg of her current world tour that will end in February. She decided “there’s no place like home” –- and returned here to her Lake Las Vegas estate. The first stop was at the Luxor to see the Criss Angel's "Believe" show. Celine, manager husband Rene Angelil and their 7-year-old son, Rene Charles, went backstage and met the rock-illusionist, who presented the youngster with a set of his children’s edition of "Mindfreak" DVDs. Said Celine: “Between his magic, the amazing dancers, the great lighting and creativity, the show is very entertaining.”
* Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel rocked out with fans at the Kings of Leon concert in the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. They arrived after the first song and sat at their table in the balcony cuddling during the entire show except for when Justin pumped his fists in the air during a couple of the songs. The romantic couple dined at the resort's Japanese Nobu restaurant prior to the show. On Saturday they kicked off their weeklong visit to Vegas with a "get out the vote rally." Justin on Wednesday will start his Shriners Childrens Hospital celebrity golf tournament fundraiser and then on Friday he hosts a concert at Planet Hollywood with the Jonas Brothers and Rihanna, among many other top stars.
* "Hercules" star Kevin Sorbo hosted his first annual foundation weekend golf tournament with a party at the Planet Hollywood resort casino. My pal, "Saved by the Bell" headmaster star Dennis Haskins, played MC and welcomed actors Patrick Warburton and John Ratzenberger from "Cheers," among others in the star-studded athlete crowd.
* Also dining at Lavo was Justin Bartha, Lake Bell and her What Happens in Vegas co-star Jason Sudeikis of Saturday Night Live, who were joined by fellow actors Lindsay Sloane & Nick Kroll.
* Actress Kirsten Dunst of "Spiderman" fame treated her best friend, Molly, to a Vegas birthday weekend that began at the new Tao-owned Lavo restaurant and club inside the Palazzo. Chef Ludo sent out his personal selection of menu items for the celebration dinner including the filet mignon rossini, ultimate pizza and chicken paillard. Kirsten continued the party upstairs in the nightclub with a table on the dance floor and cupcake cones with sparklers for the birthday girl. The bachelorettes were even transported around the hotel on the custom-made Lavo/Tao Escalade golf cart. Next night the five-girl posse was at Tao’s Asian bistro next door in the Venetian for sushi, lobster wontons and kobe beef. Kirsten surprised Molly with a cake, which the girls promptly took back to their super-suite to enjoy!
* Congratulations to Donald Trump’s 15-year-old daughter, Tiffany, who celebrated her birthday at the hotel tycoon’s new Trump Hotel here during the weekend. She brought a slew of teenage girlfriends with her -- all looked after by Donald’s second wife, Marla Maples Trump. She popped in on the champagne preview of the new Chopard jewelry collection there, which among many other gems featured a $200,000 diamond studded lady's watch.
