* Playboy king Hugh Hefner might have saved his now-busted seven-year relationship with "Girls Next Door" favorite Holly Madison if she had become pregnant. In officially confirming his split with the 28-year-old blond beauty, Hef admitted Thursday: “We tried to have a baby earlier this year and it didn’t work out. She became very depressed, because although I planned to spend the rest of my life with her, I wasn’t going to get married again.”
The 82-year-old mogul finally confirmed they split up two weeks ago when Holly hightailed it to Vegas and was seen several times with "Mindfreak" magician Criss Angel. Taking a break from rehearsals for the Oct. 31 world premiere of his Cirque du Soleil "Believe" show at the Luxor, he took Holly to the Cathouse restaurant and lounge and also to the Blush boutique club at the Wynn Las Vegas. Hefner admits he “slumped” and felt like “road kill” over the breakup, but they will remain friends, although she’s moving out of the mansion and into her own condo.
The split hasn’t slowed him down. Meet 19-year-old twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon, who have moved into the mansion and will be seen on the next season of "Girls Next Door" episodes. They are already familiar to Playboy readers, who should remember them from this year’s April cover. In the last two hours their MySpace page and official fan site has been bombarded with hits.
I’m reliably told that Hef will be bringing his new special twin-pack on a soon-to-be-scheduled Vegas visit -- and in the meantime it's highly probably that Holly will be back on Angel’s arms over the next two weekends.
* She was dubbed the “world’s first supermodel,” and Janice Dickinson has lived it up to the fullest ever since. She’s made headlines around the world with her wild and sexy antics -– and now stars on the Oxygen TV network with her own "Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" show. At Prive nightclub at Planet Hollywood, she was escorted by several male admirers. They all drank vodka with Red Bull while she kept to the Veuve Clicquot champagne. Janice played perfect host for her party, seating some people at their tables while chatting to others, where she posed for photos before settling in her own VIP banquette, Also there: Venetian comedy headliner Wayne Brady and former Miss USA Tara Connor.
* Over at the Palms, stand-up comic and TV host Chelsea Handler was with her beaufriend, top TV executive Ted Harbert, who at 53 is 20 years older than her. Palms owner George Maloof hosted a dinner in his N9NE Steakhouse for Chelsea, Ted and 12 of their pals. The twosome started with lobster dumplings and followed with mushrooms and onions on a petite filet streak, with Chelsea adding mac and cheese as a side dish. Both enjoyed their vodka on the rocks. After dinner she went up to both the Moon and Playboy Club. Next night after her show in the Pearl concert theater she repeated the two nightclub parties and was presented with a Playboy key. Also at N9NE was Vegas-born and Eldorado High School grad Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams, and after dining at the Nove Italian restaurant, comedy actor Martin Lawrence hopped up to Playboy.

* "Hercules" star, actor Kevin Sorbo, dined at the top-ranked Strip House steak restaurant inside Planet Hollywood’s resort casino in advance of hosting this weekend's celebrity golf tournament at the DragonRidge Country Club inside the MacDonald Highlands community. A slew of other actors and athletes are flying in today to help the star tee-off the first annual Kevin Sorbo tournament, including my friend, actor Dennis Haskins from "Saved By The Bell," who will host Friday night’s comedy show. It will raise funds for his nonprofit World Fit for Kids charity, which benefits many Las Vegas teens.
*Rappers Three 6 Mafia kept their party moving and grooving for 48 hours while they were at the Hard Rock hotel casino. The first night they were at Robert DeNiro’s AGO restaurant, where after dessert and drinks they chatted with several tables full of ladies -- and then partied at Body English, where UFC fighters Brandon Sene, Arick Nelson and John Wood were celebrating Brandon’s selection on the "Ultimate Fighter" TV series. Lord Infamous and Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia returned a second night to Body English and joined MTV’s "Smashtime" hosts Sal Masekela and Ben Lyons for their party.
* Lacey, Kristy Joe, Destiny and Jessica all failed to snare singer Brett Michael on his Rock of Love VH1 reality show, so now they’re teaming up for a new $100,000 challenge and new makeover in the Rock of Love Charm School sequel. You can judge for yourselves Friday night when they celebrate the season premiere in Prive at Planet Hollywood’s casino resort. Meantime, the other cast members "Frenchy" Angelique, Brandi C and Megan do their own Charm School party at Jet in the Mirage -- all to celebrate Sharon Osborne playing head mistress of etiquette on the new series that starts Sunday night.
