Some political event invites are better than others -- and Rep. Joe Heck's campaign kickoff has many interwoven stories.
It has "special guests" Gov. Brian Sandoval and Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki -- de rigueur. But the host committee is fascinating, including ex-Mayor Oscar Goodman, who was a a Democrat and now is an independent like his wife, Carolyn, the new mayor who appeared with Heck at a September event and declared "he's wonderful."
That sound you hear is heads exploding at Democratic Central and Speaker John Oceguera's campaign headquarters.
The list has many bases covered, including Latin Chamber boss Otto Merida, MGM Resorts chief Jim Murren and his wife, Heather (big Harry Reid backers) and Barbara Lee Woolen, who ran against Krolicki for lieutenant governor in 2006 and was lampooned by him as a porn film saleswoman. Ah, memories.
