Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie says he will look into a request from North Las Vegas to merge part or all of the financially troubled city's police services.
Gillespie's statement came in an email to Clark County officials regarding a letter from North Las Vegas City Manager Timothy Hacker that he received late last month.
Wrote Gillespie: "I have a follow up meeting scheduled with North Las Vegas Mayor Shari Buck on Monday, April 16. As I continue to have conversation and the request is evaluated I will keep you informed. I have made no commitment to the North Las Vegas Police Department or to the North Las Vegas city manager other than to evaluate their request. Before I make any decisions in regards to operational aspects of this request I will inform the members of the Fiscal Affairs Committee."
I have posted the letter at right.
