As we wait word on whether a judge will allow a do-over election to go forward between North Las Vegas Councilman Richard Cherchio and challenger Wade Wagner, some of the folks who want the incumbent out are after him again.
After being pummeled by police and fire unions for his votes during the campaign he lost by one vote (until a stray vote was found), Cherchio now finds signs such as those I have posted at right cropping up around town. The message is subtle: "The council cut our budgets, so we can't keep the streets safe. proceed at your own risk."
Go to the website on the signs and find all manner of nasty stuff about Cherchio, with tabs linked to two of his colleagues, Anita Wood and Robert Eliason, who some say may be targets of recalls.
This is hardball politics in the Northtown swamp.
