Of President Obama's $47 million raised in the second quarter, only $82,000 was raised in itemized contributions from Nevada, according to federal records. I have posted at right a spreadsheet with all of the itemized contributions, which include $5,000 from former GOP stalwart Mary K. Cashman, $5,000 from major Democratic donor Steve Cloobeck and $5,000 from restaurateur Jenna Morton. Following a national pattern, of the 199 itemized donors, all but 27 were under $1,000 and more than half were $250 or less.

Said one Obama campaign official: "98% of our donations were in the amount of $250 or less, and small dollar donations are not itemized in the report so this is not a full reflection of our support across the state."

Still, can't imagine those "small dollar donations" boost it much into six figures (if that), so not a lot of Obamalove shown here in the second quarter. Oh, and no Steve Wynn money, either....

  1. Da! We have the worst unemployment in the country. Housing forclosures just bottomed out, maybe. Everybody is watching their pennies here in NV. Maybe, the DNC will wake up to the problems here or because little money came from us, they will not care. Please get real.
As for Mr Wynn, he bought those 4 Chinese vases for over a million to place in his 3rd Macao casino not built yet, but; to be concern about his birth place where his parents born and raised him to be rich and got richer here so he can go to Macao? Well, you decide if he's concerned that LV is out of work and outsourcing jobs? Besides, he just got remarried and I don't think his mind is on elections.

  2. Oh Linda, many people can think for themselves. Steve told it how it is and that Obama is a "wet blanket" on the economy. Believe it or not, some people can get married and think of business on the same day, plan ahead and buy a few little articles for a new property in the planning stage. (He usually lets us regular people view them.) Read the article again, if all but 27 were under a $1,000 and more than half were $250 or less, doesn't look good. But,it is early.
