Yes, that's what Senate hopeful Sharron Angle told national radio interviewer Jerry Doyle today about that scuffle at last night's Faith Lutheran forum, once again invoking Saul Alinsky. Angle seems to think every Democrat has read his works. Alinsky was a leftist community organizer and Angle loves talking about how her foes are using his techniques to disrupt her.

But can she possibly believe this was a set-up fight? What? As if that stepped on some great news event for her?

Here's the exchange and audio is at right.

Doyle: Last night there was a little bit of a fistacuffs that took place at an event that you were at. The headline in the local paper as you know, ‘So much for the talk, brawl erupts between Angle, Reid supporters.’ Obviously we and you don’t condone violence of any sort. But what happened? I know you were there in person and Harry Reid was there on tape. What happened that it got, a little contentious let’s put it that way?

Angle: Well I think this is a play right out of Saul Alinksky’s rule for radicals. What happens if you don’t want the news to report on the forum and the debate between the two contestants, you try to make a bigger news story. And the news story is the brawl, and so that’s what they did. They staged a fight, that’s the way that I felt it was going. There were two women that were actually looking for a fight, trying to get that to be the top news story and they succeeded.

Doyle: I don’t want to sound macho but when I read the story, the woman said the man hit me first…I looked at the pictures and there’s a physicality that that doesn’t match up with the supposed reality that they were trying to sell out there.

  1. What is it with this woman and the crazy conspiracy theories? Anything that doesn't go 100% to her crazy plan is met with some loony accusation of a conspiracy against her!

Every report I've read of the incident says the crowd was rowdy and out-of-control from the moment the event began, and were screaming and cat-calling throughout the non-debate.

So what's more likely? That two people, on opposite ends of the political spectrum got into a scuffle... or that a coven of Alinsky-ite women coordinated an attack plan for weeks to disrupt a boring non-event to scuttle Angle's plan for world domination?

I want to believe that Sharron's a balanced, smart, stable candidate, but every time she's given the chance to exhibit any of those characteristics, she high-tails it back to Crazyland.

She really needs to take a break from the Glenn Beck/Rush Limbaugh/conspiracy theory echo chamber and come up for air. No wonder her poll numbers have tanked!

  2. It just keeps getting better doesn't it.

  3. It's official. Sharrontology is so batsh*t crazy, she's lost all sense of reality. Someone please send her back to her home... On Area 51!

  4. Scott Dickensheets had an outstanding article today on the news industry. ( http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/sep... )

Given what he says there, it is not at all unreasonable to think that a group of people, of any political belief, would take advantage of the media's desire to provide entertainment and do something to get attention.

The best description I can think of for today's government and the politicians who inhabit it is this: bread and circuses. And that scares me far more than any weapon can.

  5. Ms. Angle's take is totally believable, considering what happened in the House of Representatives today where the Democrats invited the comedian Steven Coarsehair (or whatever his name is) to testify before the assembly. What a circus that was!--- and what a total baffoonery by the Democrats!! Yes, Ms. Angle's take is totally believable! The Dems will stop at nothing to make fools of themselves!

  6. OMG, she really thinks we'll believe that this poor woman WANTED her hair pulled and WANTED to be punched by some rude jerk? What is Sharrontology smoking?

  7. "Democrat?! Republican?! Let's call the whole thing off!"

  8. "WE NEED THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES!!" - NativeNevadian

We have a good third party candidate for Governor, Art Lampitt. You can learn more at http://www.artforgov.com

  9. Heidi Harris (who says Reid staged the car bombing attempt when he was gaming commissioner, even though Sheriff Gillespie and news accounts at the time confirmed the attempt) said on the "Ed Schultz TV Show" that the Reid supporters at the debate were acting like "little piggies."

We now have Kdumb radio talkers like Doyle and Harris part of the Angle campaign. Doyle is only heard live on kdwn, a station in the Victorville area and one in New England. He acts like a tough military leader because he commanded a cardboard spaceship on "Babylon Five" (a failed TV show).

  10. She must be a Downwinder from Area 51

  11. One thing that gets me about all this is the fact that Sharron Angle seems to be focused more on pointing fingers at the other side and saying they are to blame...more than condemning people involved for resorting to violence at a peaceful gathering...no matter which side started it or ended it.

I would imagine the ability to have a peaceful gathering, to inform voters on what candidates are all about so they can make a wise choice, would be more important. It's an American thing to peacefully assemble. And it's something we have always prided ourselves in our ability to follow.

So, she can play this off as some kind of intricate plot cooked up to make her look bad. And, I'm sorry, but I really don't see this as a forgotten episode of "The X Files"...the truth is out there...trust no one...there's a conspiracy under every rock, Scully.

From all indications I see, Sharron Angle looks at EVERYTHING as a way of making money for her campaign. So this don't surprise me she paints a picture that didn't even happen. To her, money is more important than trying to set forth ideas to inform people on why they should vote for her. In her world, money is even more important than the truth.

With Sharron Angle it's a trend of blaming Senator Reid for everything all the time. And if, in her mind, that is not good enough, then she propounds the favorite Tea Bag lines of thought processes that it's the evil triumvirate of impending doom comprised of those dastardly foes Obama, Reid and Pelosi...painting them like they are some kind of nefarious villains in a superhero comic book. When the truth of the matter is the fact that those three people are guilty of only one shared common purpose: Trying to fix this country by setting forth policies with an eye on getting us back on track economically. But in Sharron Angle's world and a shared Tea Party idea of utopia, all three of those people are instigating a goal to destroy America, all cooked up by some nonsensical communist islamo nazoid socialist plot or something. And all they are doing is what they have been elected to do...govern and lead.

Her whole strategy of throwing out Tea Party slogans and vague generalities that have no substance nor meat to them is really quite tiring. It's getting to the point that when she talks, people just roll their eyes and think to themselves...okay...there she goes again...wind her up like a clock and she spouts the same stuff that just complains, but don't set forth any solution to anything at all.

I am pretty sure people have made their mind up regarding this Nevada Senate race. And this is even before any debates occur.

We want someone who will work. And not complain all the time. Senator Reid's accomplishments speak volumes. We want him back in. Because to put this crazy woman who is the alternative into office will take us into a very, very scary place.

  12. "Elderly Angry White Tea Partier assaults Reid supporter."

Somewhere along the line, this was bound to be a headline in this campaign.

When you manipulate people in the manner that the extremists from the far right have, results are predictable.

The Tea Party has coalesced into a reasonable facsimile of what it's creators hoped for.
Hatred. Anger. Extremism. "Us against the world."
"Don't you just HATE Harry Reid? Get out there and SHOW IT! He's Anti-American! He's in cahoots
with a Kenyan Marxist-Socialist Koran-reading Moozlim who's intent on RUINING AMERICA! That's their goal!!!
AND he wants to take your Social Security and your Health Care!
You'll be left with NOTHING!!! Is THAT WHAT YOU WANT? NO? Then you better DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

    Who are the "Radicals" now?

  13. Triple777:

Sen. Reid was in Washington because congress is in session. If he had come here for that debate (or grandstand or brawl - whatever), you would be scolding him for neglecting his job to campaign.

  14. I think the brawl is in the Koch Bros.-Americans For Prosperity-Rove-Angle misinformation campaign strategy.

  15. I was the guy in the blue shirt sitting behind the elderly heavy set guy who ended up trying to calm him down after he instigated the confrontation by not letting the women past him when they got up to leave. He shoved the first woman when she forced her way past him and the situation escalated from there. The Angle supporters exercised their right to be rude during Senator Reid's time and many Democrat's reciprocated in kind during this canned questions and canned answer session. Overall this forum was tailor made for a candidate, Ms. Angle, who can't think on her feet or actually debate if she is forced off her talking points. But this is exactly what she needs to demonstrate as THIS WOULD BE HER JOB on a daily basis in the senate. She was completely ineffective in the state legislature in persuading even those on her side of the aisle to support her positions which should have, if she were a reflective person which she obviously is not, caused her to wonder if those positions were fundamentally wrong, as I think they were.

  16. By the way,
Has anyone ever heard of a child flunking out of kindergarten because of moral confusion?

  17. I was there.

I was in a chapel on a Christian school campus that was full of hate. Hate for our President and his policies. This event was organized and put on for Mrs. Angle by people that hate the fact that they lost the last election. The hate was thick in the air. It was like the Twilight Zone. Hate filled chapel, that is what experienced.

  18. I do not understand how anyone can take Ms. Angel seriously. Her assertions, comments, and illogical views make me worry about about our country. The election seems to be descending into an anti-intellectual free-for-all, appealing to the lowest common denominator of citizenry.

  19. Reid is a failure so sends out his thugs - takes a page out of the old Las Vegas/Searchlight game book.
Reid has destroyed the economy; Reid has destroyed the family values; Reid has destroyed health care; Reid allows illegals to murder ranchers; Reid is a failture.

So he sends in his thugs as we all know Reid has failed.

  20. Many do hate Obama - as he has destroyed what is good about AmeriCA. Obama hates half of America; his wife is a mean spirited lady who travels lavishly at taxpayer expense. Yeah - Reid political camp writes replies in the Las Vegas Sun to try to cover up the harm Reid has caused on Nevada economy; home values; and so much more. Harry has destroyed the American family....
So why do we hate Obama - because we cherish family more then him. Obama hates family. He and his wife allows his sister to live in homeless shelters at tax payer expense - and does not care a hoot about families. Obama is a bad family man - who used tax payer money to send his daughter to Europe; closed down European beaches - instead of keeping the money in the United States.

Obama - bad for America, bad for Nevada; bad for families in the state.
