So says Cleta Mitchell, the same woman who tried to get Scott Ashjian, the Tea Party of Nevada candidate out of the race, in an astonishing fundraising letter:
As Sharron Angle's campaign attorney, I am sorry to report that the Democrats and their cronies are up to their same old tricks, of trying to manipulate the election in hopes of skewing the results in their favor.
Two days ago, the Democratic Secretary of State announced that voters can be provided "free food" at "voter turnout events." Harry Reid has been offering free food and, according to other reports, some Democratic allies such as teachers' unions are offering gift cards in return for a vote for Reid.
Before we were even able to document the reported infractions to report to the authorities, the Democrat Secretary of State slammed the door shut on preventing this behavior and issued a public statement permitting these ACORN-style tactics. THESE are the kinds of shenanigans that can turn this race.
Harry Reid intends to steal this election if he can't win it outright. As a result, we need to deploy literally dozens of election law attorneys and poll watchers to combat these tactics at a cost of nearly $80,000. That's over and above our current budget. We need to raise $80,000 and we need to do it RIGHT NOW, because even as I am writing this, Harry Reid and his Machine are trying to steal this election. I'm sorry that we have to come to you yet again and ask for you to reach deep and contribute, but we must.
Understand, EVERYTHING we have worked for in the last year could be destroyed by dirty tricks and criminal acts in the next 8 days. As Sharron's first line of defense on these matters I am absolutely committed to making sure this won't happen.
What Harry Reid is doing is clearly illegal. Nevada law (NRS 293.700) provides that, “A person who bribes, offers to bribe, or use and other corrupt means, directly or indirectly, to influence any elector in giving his or her vote or to deter the elector from giving it is guilty of a category D felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130.”
We've seen evidence of this sort of voter 'enticement' by groups such as ACORN - where, in 2008, two ACORN workers in Milwaukee were accused of offering pre-paid gasoline cards or restaurant gift cards to people in exchange for registration.
John Fund wrote in his book Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy, cited reports from the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader (South Dakota) and the election in 2004, where certain residents were quoted saying that "people on the streets were saying you go vote, they would give you gas money, $10, maybe a pack of cigarettes..."
Now, this week in Las Vegas, at our election hotline, we received reports that some teachers' union representatives were offering Starbucks cards to people to get them to vote for Harry Reid. It is even more disturbing and may be possible that they are using their influence and authority as educators to entice students on behalf of Reid.
Here’s the bottom line: when the powerful are threatened, they will do anything to retain their position. It's clear now that Harry Reid's campaign is even willing to skirt the laws of Nevada to do it.
Is there any question that they will do the same on Election Day?
Will you help us raise this $80,000 today? With it we can fight the election-stealing tactics of Harry Reid and his corrupt cronies.
The right to vote is a precious one - and it carries with it somber responsibilities. The Democrats' willingness to allow voters to be enticed with a promise of any thing of value is a debasement of the process- and it may just destroy everything we've worked for.

I was a little nervous when I saw the early vote totals from yesterday, but then I realized many of the early vote sites yesterday were in GOP strongholds (like Sun Cities Summerlin & Anthem, and Moapa Valley)... And now, I see this. I guess Team Sharrrrrrrrrrrrrron is in full panic mode. How else can one explain this crazy talk from them?

Sharon Angle wants to represent us in the U.S. Senate but is terrified to talk to the public or the press. Now her legal counsel is setting us all up for post-election limbo. The GOP will clearly not stand for anything but victory no matter what. We can all thank Rove and G.W. A vote for any Democrats is a vote for--AMNESTY. A vote for Amnesty, is promoting a rise in--spiraling TAXES. Voting for Senators Reid, Boxer, and any hidden Liberal, is a vote for loss of our countries sovereignty. Since the inception of the Obama administration, our rights as citizens have eroded away. This is a sample of what Senator Harry Reid has in store for us, if he is reelected? Nationals send approximately $60 billion annually out of the country in remittances Western Union, Wells Fargo, and other banks, plus an estimate $113 billion dollars at the local level of government for public benefits. Harry Reid voted to continuously fund Sanctuary cities and States, so did Senator Barbara Boxer of California.
Harry Reid and the majority of democrats crashed American-English as the recognized language of this country, and voted for illegal aliens to participate in our wilting Social Security System, placing Senior citizens pensions at risk. Senator Reid, Boxer and the largest proportion of Lib-Democrats voted equally, to what top Democrats wanted every time and that is killer Immigration Reform. Dems and Republicans neglected the very substantial laws of the 1986 Immigration Control and Reform Act specifically illegal hiring where a business was concerned. This is sheer madness when his Nevada has the largest proportion of jobless Americans, the highest rate of bankruptcies and home foreclosures. Another fact is that Reid voted yes, to continue public entitlements, including unemployment benefits to foreign nationals. Reid did nothing to stem the movement of discount labor into Nevada, during the real estate boom.
Contractors used these people, cutting off the rights of citizens and green card holders to eligible jobs. Reid must have turned senile when he states that there are no illegal aliens in Nevada. As with many Border States the giant inflow of illegal labor, the crippling economy and the need for sustenance is now devouring public benefit dollars. In the last ten years Dem-Libs have failed to complete the real DOUBLE SECTION fence along the full length of the border with Mexico, but sued Arizona for trying to defend its citizens from overflow of monetary illegal aliens, criminals and even foreign grown terrorists. Even now back-door Amnesty is going on in courtrooms, especially in Texas where ICE is releasing non-criminal aliens back to our communities. Senator Reid, along with Barbara Boxer challenged E-Verify, the local policing law 287 (G) yet pushing to award tuition to children of illegal aliens for a college and state universities education, when American students cannot even afford the escalating fees.

Then most definitely Jerry Brown has proved himself to be--PRO AMNESTY from his past record. He can join the far left Democrats or a proportion of elected officials, Mayors, Chief of Police who are from Liberal fringe hiding beneath a cloak of respectability. Jerry has stated very clearly he wants a path to citizenship for those in the country illegally. Jerry also opposes Arizona's new SB1170 immigration law. Says it's not the state's job to crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Then unlike Whitman, he also supports the Dream Act for students who are illegal immigrants. In other words he is in keeping with most Lib-Democrats, who would infuse this country with uneducated, non-skilled labor and the families, which American taxpayers usually end up paying for and their children.
Once here they begin to have numerous children, who receive instant citizenship and an extremely expensive $$$ weight dumped on citizens and residents. Whitman stated we should have a guest worker program for agriculture. Whereas Whitman wants a secure border, before determining what should be done with those now who entered the country illegally, also wants a crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Supports Arizona's right to enact its new immigration law, but opposes it here. Trouble with Meg's idea of a Guest Worker program, the farm labor already here when Reagan signed the Simpson/ Mazzoli bill, deserted the farms and entered into the mainstream of the American labor force; in addition it was overrun with fraud. Any commitment to another Guest Worker program must be considered as temporary, with no possibility as a Path to citizenship.

So Jon, is this true or not? How is a "voter turnout event" defined? The letter from SOS doesn't answer that question, but instead skirts around it. How about a timely, independent fact check, please.

It is being reported all the way over in California that some absentee ballots were premarked for Democrats.
Nevada voters using absentee or otherwise early voting methods have to "look at what they give you".
On November 2nd, the same suggestion. Be sure any ballots you get are NOT premarked for Democrats even if they say you can change it (as in use of a Computer system for electronic voting at the voting place).
Also, if you are getting Meals on Election Day, be cautious of any ballots they may give you.

It sounds like Cleta Michell is attempting to use fear uncertainty and doubt to pad her coffers. Typical Republican tactic.

Like most Republican efforts, this latest effort is "fact free".
Lets boil this election down to its political empirical elements. We know to a virtual certainty that Angle will for the most part refuse to make any compromises and will vote "no" on everything, including republican legislative endeavors. If she is elected, she will be part of a Republican caucus which, if in the majority, will blockade any effort to replace Justice Ginsburg, the last remaining justice likely to retire in the near term who sees individual rights as more critical than corporate rights. If Obama is defeated in 2012 and Justice Ginsburg hasn't been replaced by then, the new Repbulican president will then add a 5th young ultra-conservative to the US Sup Ct, giving us possibly 20 plus years of hard right decisions.
If you have yet to vote and want to think long term rather than based on anger at Reid, I implore you to consider what this country will look like with another Alito, Roberts, Scalia or Thomas on the highest court. Gore v. Bush and Citizens United will look like child's play as such a court moves all the way to making this country a corporatocracy where your right to vote will become more and more illusory as anonymous corporate moneyby the millions is poured into campaigns stifling any opposition to tax breaks for exporting of jobs, tax cuts for wealthy, and privatization of Soc Sec.
And replacing Ginsburg with an Obama appointee doesn't shift the balance within the court because Kennedy will still be the conservative leaning swing vote. it will be an even trade of one left leaning justice for another left leaning justice. No change in overal make up there.
Just remember how the Republicans and their anonymously funded "Interest Groups" have, according to a Pew poll released today, convinced 2/3 of all voters that TARP is a Democratic initiative when in fact it was a Bush initiative pushed by Boehner. If you like that sleight of hand, just wait to see what kind of BS the right shoves down our throats with a 5th ultra-conservative on the bench and even more anonymous millions influencing our "democratic" election process.

The key to the Fox5 story is that the interviewed voters claim to have "gone to vote" and had Dems premarked on their "ballot". Since there are no "ballots" at the polls, I suspect that the Registrars comments about sensitive touch screens is the real answer. The only "ballots" are the absentee ones and if there were any 'pre-marked' Angle's campaign would have copies in the press in a ny minute.

If this turns out to be as close as the polls suggest, the loser will cry foul and fraud. Neither Reid nor Angle will go down without a call for a recount unless there is at least a 1,000 vote margin. There wont be any hanging chads, but there may be some "rigged" machines.

If there is a recount, it is based on the paper tally printed when each voter ends his session. So long as voters check their paper printout before ending his session, rigging the machines shouldn't have an impact. I have done poll work and the security is fairly good so to rig the count on the paper, it would take a massive set of people colluding. Our system is miles better than the system used some of the states back east.

I thought that in America, in the 1960's we finished with voter intimidation. Yet, during the 2008 election, there were Republican poll watchers at the Von's parking lot on Durango and Warm Springs, actively interfering with selected voters. The Republican poll watcher physically put hands on my daughter-in-law. The Republican poll watcher obviously figured that my young daughter-in-law was likely to vote for Obama. I was outraged then, and we really should have called Metro to complain.
Today my son promised to drive my next door neighbor to vote later this week.
My neighbor, aged 75 or so, is a full blooded Apache born in Arizona. She is often mistaken for being Mexican or Mexican-American.
I shudder to think what will happen if some Republican poll watcher tries to prevent my neighbor from voting, because my son, the double black belt, will likely react.
The sort of letter written by Cleta Mitchell incites violence at the polls, because it inflames mentally unstable Republicans. In turn, there are people who will defend their and other people's right to vote in the face of interference by mentally unstable Republican poll watchers.
So I ask Cleta Mitchell, what are "voters who look like Democrats" to do?
Not vote for fear of having their heads and necks stomped, like we saw Rand Paul's regional campaign director do today on television?
Get into a verbal or physical altercation with your poll watchers?
I suggest that each voter not wait until Election Day to vote (in case of poll watcher interference), take a cel phone with video camera with them to the polls, document any interference with their voting rights, and call Metro if ANY interference occurs.

Do we really want to move Nevada's Senate seat from the very front row of the chamber to the last row in the building, with an neophyte candidate who can't be trusted to speak & whom will have absolutely no respect in the Senate, not even from her own party? I think not. More importantly-
1) In more than six years of Republican control of the Senate, House, White House and Supreme Court, they severely messed up our nation. Two fruitless, preemptive wars, huge debt, wholesale outsourcing of jobs overseas, elimination of pensions, skyrocketing energy prices, abuses in banking and wall street, near economic collapse.
2) They are booted from office, en-masse.
3) For two years, the Tea Cup Party Republicans shout down the President, blockade the House and Senate. They obstruct everything, become the party of NO, and generate anger amongst voters, fooling them into thinking its the democrats fault and that they can't get anything done.
4) Voters reward the republicans and put them back in power, propagating the hatred and gridlock.
The absolute best thing voters could do would be to vote straight democratic tickets- sending the Republicans the message, loud and clear, that they need to get along, not the opposite. Our democracy depends upon it.
Business as usual for Reid,,,, Buy the votes if you have to, just win, you can recover your handouts/gifts "TEN FOLD" if you can just retain POWER!!!!!!

I cannot believe what I am reading in the comments. Regardless if you are a Democrat or Republican how can the buying of votes be ok? I don't care who is in power Republican or Democrat both parties should be outraged, our country was founded on the idea that elections should not be tainted. We have been hearing reports that ballots are being found to have been punched for Harry Reid before a voter even steps into the booth.
Also, there are multiple reports of Voting Machines spitting out ballots that show a Straight Democratic Party vote was cast when, in fact, the actual voter had cast a Straight Republican Party vote.
Could it have anything to do with the fact that the technicians for the voting machines are members of the SEIU.

Near as I can tell, no one is being handed something to actually vote. The food is being provided at voter REGISTRATION rallies, where a person can register for whatever party they choose. The food is not being handed out at the polling places as people go in to actually case their votes.
One thing no one seems to have caught on to yet is that voter registration ended last week. Therefore, the need to "battle" Reid is over. Accusing teachers of bribing their students to vote for Reid is silly in the extreme because in our poor school district, teachers are not going to do something that stupid and jeopardize their jobs.
This is almost as stupid as some of the other tactics being used by Tea Party candidates to regain the ground they are losing.

As a former Deputy Registrar of Voters, allow me to take a non-partisan approach?
If the allegations are true, these people should be doing time with OJ Simpson. The bribing of the public or "incentivization by the few" of votes is a debasement of one of the critical systems that makes this country great. It is not a state secret that political parties would serve free beer, sausages and hot dogs or maybe a free turkey or ham, in order to get people to vote, in a given direction.
Considering the economy and the desperation of some, one has to ask, "Why not hand these folks out a bag of groceries, with a "Vote for {insert candidate's name here}?" If the Attorney General of a state, is going to turn a blind-eye, hopefully the people would realize they would not be in this position of accepting gratuities, if the current state of the economy has been getting better.
I regret to say, that based upon the reports I have heard about the electronic voting machines and the people who are servicing them, specifically members of the SEIU, there is a direct conflict of interest, which should be addressed.
I happen to object to early voting and support a single day for voting, known as "Election Day." I find this to be a lazy way out of doing one's "civic duty" and has contributed to the fraudlent activities within the system. I believe in the use of absentee ballots and laws in the states where I live, make statutory allowances to allow it's respective citizens a window of time, usually two hours, to vote ON ELECTION DAY. By having a specific day for elections and allowing a specific period of time, say 30 days for voter registration, before Election Day, this significantly mitigates the possibility of voter fraud.
If a person can't get off their tail and perform their "civic duty," on Election Day or obtain an absentee ballot, something is critically wrong with our system and values.
As far as these voting machines are concerned, go back to IBM punch cards and hold the voter responsible for ensuring that there are no chips, sometimes referred to as "hanging chads," are present.
"Voter intent" and being "denied to vote" are two very clear and different elements. People who vote, need to accept responsibilities for their actions and quit their whining because of a failure on their part to ensure that their voting is correct and was done properly.
As far as these voting machines go, they've got to go!!!
By the way, has anybody seen James O'Keefe? This would certainly make great reporting, if the allegations are true.

She does not have to come home from work sore, cut up, wondering if the water i was laying in fixing a sink was contaminated by an infectious illness, nor does she have to go to work wondering if she is going to get hurt to the point that she cant work and trying to survive on two thirds of your weekly income if you do get hurt.

First, I had to make my way past the SEIU, IBEW and Black Panther thugs with nightsticks who were intimidating every whitey walking through the doors, one of the SEIU guys came from out of nowhere and tackled me, while another curbstomped my face. Once I broke free and ran inside, there was the Reid campaign table offering me free coffee and donuts, along with a pre-marked ballot already marked with a check by Reid's name. Disgusted, I threw that in the trash and made my way to the room with the polling machines, and wouldn't you believe...as soon as I activated the machine, it already pre-selected all (D) names on my ballot! When I complained to the polling staffers - all of whom were lazy Obama socialists on welfare, btw - they told me to 'take my case to Fox'. Upon exiting, the Reid table threw coffee at me and called me a 'teabagger', the Black Panthers were heard yelling 'we know where you live cracker', and the SEIU thugs slashed my tires.

I called down to Reid's boys to tell them when I wanted to vote and that I didn't have a ride to the polls. they said not to worry and that they'd send a car around for me. kewl.

I voted at the trailer near Lowe's on Craig and didn't see anyone attempting to intimidate or influence anyone. I rather suspect the reported "pre-marked" ballots were nothing more than operator error of the touchscreens (easily checked by the printed paper ballot unless you're nearly blind), and any reports of Reid "vote buying" or Angle "goons" nothing but partisan rumor. Locals just need to take a breath, tune out the attack ads, read up on & consider the substantive issues facing us, and vote acording to their conscience.

I talked to Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax just yesterday and he said, "There has been no voter fraud in his County for 13 years since he has been working there".
I asked Mr. Lomax if he has ever in validated the voter database against Jury Duty Declines due to 'Non-Citizenship" status and he said, "No".
If Democrats in charge of voter integrity don't check for voter fraud of course they would find any, so for over 13 years Mr. Lomax has failed to even check to see if people that voted also declined jury duty due to non-citizenship...wow are you all impressed?

Many of Reid's supporters do not read, speak or write in the English language but know how to sign their name, make a copy of their utility bill, fill out a voter registration form for an absentee ballot, leave the citizenship box unchecked, and mail form back to the State of Elections Office. These supporters will get their absentee ballots in the mail, vote for the democrat, and send it back to be counted and all without any fear of being caught.
