The ACLU is probably right on this one.
Er...what? Rory Reid's education committee, if there was one, consisted of members of his campaign. They are not any more subject to the open meeting law than a private poker party would be in my house. The Gube's committee, however, is an official public body appointed by a sitting Governor. So, open meeting laws prima facie apply to them.
But the most bizarre thing about all this is that I'm spending time arguing such an obvious point.
How long has Rory been a County Commissioner? His record with the Unions and UMC are about all I need to know. Rory is the prime example of someone who would be just another lawyer in Vegas without Daddy's coat-tails. I mean, is he really the best Dem. candidate or has King Reid sent out his marching orders.
Rory Reid is serious on Education. This is no joke! Educational progress needs the leadership of a Governor engaged in the needs of lower and higher education. His own wife is an educator. No other candidate running for Governor (other than Rory Reid) is more concerned about educating our youth. Vote for Rory Reid to stop the dumbing down of Nevada's kids.
What about the CITY/COUNTY Closed door meetings with the UNIONS that are at the taxpayers expense, where is the anti-American criminal liberties union when the taxpayers are being had.
THINKEDUCATIONNV: The time has long passed when I could believe that a Demonrat was about anything but a progressive(read socialist) education.
