American Crossroads, begun by prominent GOP operatives and advised by Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie, has a new ads starting Tuesday against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. It hits him on the economy.

If American Crossroads is against Harry Reid,
That is, in and of itself, enough reason for me to vote for Harry Reid.
I guess if you don't have a viable candidate yourself, the best thing to do is attack the other party's candidate.

Eight years of the Bush Administration and the Republican nay sayers are responsible for the economy. Let us get real folks and understand that American Crossroads is not interested in the average citizen, just interested in seeing that the disasterous actions of the Bush Administration continue. We in Nevada would be worse off if not for the presence in the Senate of our Harry Reid. Karl Rove and Dick Cheny are two nasty pieces of work and much of what has happened in this dire economic time can be placed at their feet. Rove and Cheny are the twin evil architects of the BIG LIE. We need to reelect Senator Reid.

Dick Cheney and Karl Rove are fading into oblivion, total insignificance, their only claim to fame is they were a part of the most inept, incompetent and corrupt Presidential administration in American history.
But what gets me about this ad is not only the fact that a lot of it is generalized conservative right wing nut blathering talking points (that "Obama/Pelosi/Reid triumvirate of impending evil doom" thing which conservatives love to paint all the time is subtly thrown into that ad), but it's the fact there is now a major move afoot to influence the Nevada elections.
And the people who are inserting themselves into this upcoming November 2010 Senator race...are not even from here. And they won't and can't vote here.
And it appears there is a long line of conservatives all chomping at the bit, snorting like crazy, pawing at the dirt, eyes flashing fire, teeth gritting together, resolute in what they have to do. And then they look over and...they got to work with Sharron Angle. Then they start scratching their heads in frustration and befuddlement, trying to figure out what to do.
And the voters of Nevada is the one thing they are not sure about when presenting her to them. And it's basically driving them crazy.
Because we know the real deal. And it boils down to this: Why would you trade in a brand new Mercedes (Senator Reid) for a Yugo (Sharron Angle).
Republicans? You got Sharron Angle. Work with it. Not anyone else's fault you have to work hard, trying to polish a chunk of coal into some form of diamond.

During the last two years of the Bush adminstration the Congress was controlled by Democrat Reid and Democrat Pelosi. They did nothing to stem the failing economy and collapsing housing market. Democrat leaders sat by and watched the country burn so a Democrat would be elected president. Shame on both Democrat leaders!!

For those of you professing outrage over an out-of-state group's efforts to influence a Nevada's senatorial election, I assume you were just as angry when out-of-state Democrats spent millions trying to influence the GOP gubernatorial primary? If not, your moral fervor must speak in partisan tongue only.

Sharon Angle is a bonafide nut, i.e. Scientology, doing away with Medicare and Social Security and thinking that flouride is somehow bad for you (don't Republicans have dentists?). Some boob above spouted the usual rubbish of "Reid and Pelosi controlled the congress for two years under Bush...". There are a total of 535 members of congress. Reid and Pelosi are the senior members. They don't "control" anything. I never hear anyone complaining that Denny Hassert, Speaker of the House before Pelosi, turned a blind eye to one of his Republican colleagues talking dirty to a 16 year old boy. Hm. I suppose that was all made up?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Harry Reid has been in congress for close on to 30 years. It wasn't until Harry Reid became the majority leader of the Senate and Fox News et al. rolled out their smear campaigns that everyone started complaining about him.
So if you want to blindly vote for a party representative instead of the more qualified candidate, go right ahead. Don't read, don't anaylze, don't think. Believe that there really is such a thing as a liberal left wing biased media and everything they report is a total fabrication. Let your country be run by the puppets of corporations or people, as in the case of Sharon Angle, who are so disconnected from reality that they will be simply ineffectual. Be my guest but don't complain later on when you finally wake up and smell the coffee.

Sharron Angle is indeed a nut.
I have worked my entire life in a job where I contributed money extensively to Social Security. Money well spent for other hard working people to be taken care of in their golden years. And they in turn contributed to the same worthy cause. People taking care of people. Indirectly. But that's how the Government set it up to work.
I am a retired Navy Veteran. I made a sacrifice for my nation. Not only in service, but in paying money indirectly in to a system that provides the most bang for bucks to help the most people. I did this willing too. I enjoyed this service, and indeed consider it a privilege I was allowed an opportunity to serve my country, giving me a sense of accomplishment. And paying it forwards to others who were deserving. This is America. This is how it's supposed to work.
I am coming close to the year where it's my turn. And I will receive a considerable amount. In other words, other people will contribute for me.
When eligible for it, I don't consider this a handout. And this is not what some people call a free ride. This is a national system of caring for people that fills a need. A system which I assisted make sure works. A system which still works to this day.
Now, here you have a wingnut that wishes to get her filthy hands on it, manipulate it, but call it "privatizing" it, but is nothing but taking money destined for me, and others who worked hard, but now using it for her own personal use and/or political gain.
It's like someone coming along and saying, yeah, I know, here's a system you worked to help all your life, contributing money to it, but hell, we're going to change it, not because it's the right thing to do, but because we want to make money off of it, so, basically, you're not going to reap the benefits from Social Security, so sorry, go to the nearest soup kitchen and stand in line, because we could care less about what you think, this is now a Republican playground and we do with money what we want because we just want fame, money, power and glory and we don't want to do a damn thing to earn it except make hard working people like you mad.
This tells me, without any doubt in my mind whatsoever, Sharron Angle could care less what I did or what I think or even if I live or die.
My point? I'm not letting someone get into office that screams "we are taking our country back." I'm casting my vote in November 2010 for someone who calmly proclaims we should keep our country out of the hands of idiots like her and not let them in power...especially when they don't show or do anything to deserve respect.

Colin..first of all, thank you for your service. Yes, you deserve your social security and should fight like hell to make sure you get it. We need to make sure that the fat cats on Wall Street don't get to screw us all out of our Social Security. We should also move to make sure that all 401K programs and corporate retirement are independent of the corporations that the employee works for. In other words, the funds for these should be in independent accounts that the corporation is NOT able to take loans on, etc. Also, matching funds should not be in corporate stock. In this way, if the company dissolves, the retirements are more secure. AT the present time, a corporation only has to declare bankrupcy (or course after they have been milked dry by the officers) and they are absolved of this responsibility.
Libs love spending without recourse. Where do you think the money is going to come from? Soc Sec is already in the red. Dumb

While Bush spent too much with the Reid/Pelosi Congress (because they had more members dummy), he DID create an environment that provided 52 Straight months of growth.

As for Angle, you take and twist the Soc Sec argument as libs always do because honesty is not your forte. I Understand.
Angle would, as would I, like to phase out Soc Sec as it currently stands and take a more libetarian approach where PEOPLE not GOVERNMENT control more of their own retirement.

Angle winning the primary is a classic case of "one must be careful of what one wishes for.."
