So says Gov. Jim Gibbons in a fairly stinging response to Speaker Barbara Buckley's alternative budget plan posted elsewhere on this blog. I have posted the missive at right.

"Big Rig" trucks?
THATS what's put ants in Gym Gibbons' pants???
For the umpteenth time, I muse to myself,
HOW DID THIS MAN GET ELECTED?
Transportation companies buy their trucks from fleet dealers that are in a much better position to give a discount than a local Nevada dealer can. One of the Guv's donors a truck dealer?
It won't do a lot of good to get the trucks sold if the buyers can't afford to operate them; the whiz kids in the Legislature raised the fuel tax on diesel on the assumption the interstate truckers would get a lot of money to the State. The big rigs have tank capacity of 200 or more gallons; after our increase, the truckers started fueling in other states, and blow right through Nevada. The locals got stuck with the tax, paying as much or more than the price for premium gasoline. Another rocket science move by our whizbang politicians.
Did Lance Gilman give him a couple of freebies out at the ranch in Storey county, next to his Reno/Tahoe industrial center.

So how many articles concerning Gibbon's and what he's done wrong as a person, who he lashes out against, what bill or fellow Legislator plan he's against must we endure!! I've yet to see one single article praising this man or a piece of Legislation that he's responsible for that does any good for anyone. I don't think it's the paper's fault, it's just the blatant nature of this man's inability to Govern, Period.
Democrat Shelly Berkley doesn't care what anyone thinks. She is part of the arrogance in Washington, and voted against our wishes for Government Run Health Care. She feels that she will get re-elected no matter what she does. Folks, you DO HAVE BETTER options out there. Why settle for a poor representative like Shelly Berkley. The governer had done what he promised, he has not raised taxes, though dems would certainly like to.
