Maybe Brian Sandoval is a conservative, after all. This plan sure hits many of the "right" talking points: Cut pay and benefits of state employees, cut budgets, privatize services, take money from school district.
School districts already grumbling that Sandoval mirrors Gov. Jim Gibbons on class-size reduction money diversion -- but he will claim he keeps districts whole with one-time use of unencumbered money in capital accounts.
Let the debate begin!
Nevada isn't the only state in trouble. There are 48 states with budget shortfalls for 2010 & 2011. They are all facing the same problems that Nevada is facing.

class size reduction doesn't do anything unless you have great teachers in every classroom. Nevada doesn't allow meaningful teacher evaluations so we don't know. So spending $300 million on a program with no discernable benefits is a bit...silly. The other reforms sound good too, why should the state government employ landscapers and many other jobs?

Sounds like Senator Raggio's plan. Hope Judge Sandoval isn't a Governor Palin.
At least Sandoval will Govern from the middle. Gibbons is a dictator and Rory wants to raise taxes on everything and protect his union cronies. Look what Rory has done to Clark county and now is trying to do something. Look at Gibbons and Reid's careers in politics and that well tell you what you are getting. Just hot air and not much substance. Look who is backing Reid and its pretty scary who will control this puppets strings. Maybe, Dawn will try to sell a book or run for office and educate Nevada how screwed up Gibbo really is.
