A memo from a CA consultant says credit problems will ensue if water rights case not fixed by Legislature. It's the one that slowed down the water pipeline.

The SNWA's water "credit" problem was and remains their fabricated HOAX, to squander $$$ and various natural resourses.
As long as Hoover Dam remains, Lake Mead remains forever abundant to water ALL So. Nev., period.
So Las Vegas can STEAL water from northern Nevada? Not a chance. The Supreme Court was right and Vegas should simply curtail its growth by master plan. Not growing anymore anyway, so now's the time to do it.

Fact: Today,SNWA has more water in Lake Mead that it could ever consume in thousands of years.
Las Vegas Valley can expand forevermore, with ALL water needed.
These bureaucrats are extortionist, faking their public voters.
I grew up in NV. and know NV very well!
It is time these fabricated politicians ALL go to jail, in alfragradicly ORDER!!!!!!!!
Just an aside, but the BAD thing about conservation is that once everyone cuts out the waste, what happens if there is a natural shortage of snow melt one year? There would be no more to cut !!!
If there IS waste, and a shortage occurs, at least THEN you can cut it out and survive.
The fact is that the government always supplies too little and too late when it is allowed control over provision of services. Look at the roads- always too little and too late.
Desertland you are correct about the politicians being crooks there's no doubt about that. Your statements about Lake Mead couldn't be more incorrect. I don't know if you have been out there in a while but it is dropping 10-15' per year so there def. isn't enough water for thousands of years. And second, NV has a very small % of the rights to Lake Mead (the Colorado River), of course our evil neighbor CA has the majority of the rights so its going to be a dry lake bed within 20 years.

Those white rings around the Lake are variuos(calcium) minerals from water levels rising & dropping! The level goes up & down, depending on the dam gates releasing it. Open the dam gates, soon the level drops, flowing to Mexico, onto the Sea! Many dams are on the river, which are all controled by special interest bureaucrats in their shuffleboard game.
However, you elude to Lake "rights", which is synomimous with the CA consultant for SNWA who calls it "credit problems". What a scam:
1. The NV Legislature has no legal authority to dictate past, present or future water "credits" from the river, because "credits" are merely a smoke screen HOAX created by potiticians, i.e. SNWA, et al.
2. SNWA does have legal authority to water ALL of Vegas Valley, with or without effluent "credit" returns. But SNWA rather their pipedream HOAX, to squander $$$, & strangle the north desert. Who polices SNWA? The Courts, who made their final judgment.
Now, the SNWA CA consultant wants to circumvent the Supreme Court, via NV Legislature??? Another SNWA scam.
Do you know how many acre feet or miles of water there is in Lake Mead? Do the math, & you will see Vegas could not ever consume that much water. A drop in the bucket!!!
