Mining companies: Our 0.5% tax rate is TOO HIGH!
Greedy foreign companies leeching billions of dollars of our mineral resources while refusing to pay their fair share...
NO WAY! What a SHOCK!
I thought they'd come right out and offer up another gold nugget or 2.
Nevada needs to do what other states do. They tax where the money is. No tax revenues, no services. Simple as that. So Mr. and Mrs. Nevada who don't want to raise taxes on gaming and mining...'GO VISIT YOUR GRANDKIDS IN CALIFORNIA 'CUZ THEY CAN'T LIVE HERE!'
don't listen what they said. .5%. give me f****** break.i am paying 15 percent out of my check just so i don't own the government at the end of year. TAX THE FOERIGNER. what are they going to do pack up and leave to much money here.
some1 getting kickback. i bet u he live in that big mansion
Gibbons' goddess Sarah Palin taxed the oil companies in Alaska. And yet they continued to drill, and beg to drill even more. So, the Gibbons nonsense is merely, well, self-serving nonsense. Just a ploy to protect his "friends", his true friends. Time for equality in taxes. Even the casinos pay more. This screed from a governor who has proposed telling poor, incontenent, elderly Nevadas: No More Diapers. No wonder Obama tells people to spend money elsewhere. This is one sick place.
I was struck with how infantile the wording in this document is.
That's simple, let's take away their right to pump water - de-water, unless they pay their fair share of getting minerals from public lands. The Mining act should be re-written.
They are talking about a Gold Bubble anyway. The mining firms are mostly Canadian Companies financed by Middle Eastern Interests anyway too.
Miners have to sue, casino operators just pay off our politicians. Ever wonder why they don't raise taxes on casinos?
The mining companies need to step up to the plate. It really is that simple.
Were in a world of hurt right now so they should expect to pay more and act accordingly.
As a matter of fact, the best thing they can do right now, is offer to pay more upfront so they can negotiate from a better position than that of a stingy foreign corporation stripping Nevada and her people of our economic wealth.
I support the miners, the 49ers and the criminalization of taxation.
