Some of the most powerful figures in Northern Nevada are hosting a fundraiser for GOP gubernatorial hopeful Brian Sandoval at some private suites in the Eldorado. The mayor, the state Senate legend, gaming figures and a business boss -- oh, and their wives -- will all be there.
See the invite at right.

Hmmm, I wonder if those $500 per person contributors are selfless idealists or if they're business owners who know which side of the bread their butter is on?
Sandoval needs some reprogramming after poor showing last night. This suit looked good till he opened his mouth. Maybe the folks forking over the dough will have some original ideas. How bout tapping some of the $10 billion the mines will extract this year.
Thanks for the heads up - I won't buy any Lazy Creek Vineyards wine.
How is it that a couple of hundred dollars more in annual taxes per household for better protection and education is the end of the world, but $500 for one night of power-pong is a worthwhile sign of status?
Why does Sandoval look like he can't think on his feet? That dumb look in his eyes is something to see.
As Brian Sandoval stands and takes the oath of office as our newly elected Governor, he will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Nevada's Gaming Operators.
Bend down Sandavol, your kissing. And if he wins, we loose another 4years like we did with Gibbons. He'll fight all of Reid's and the President's money coming into us like they did with no child left behing and health care. Wonder why we are in this mess? Its not just the feds. Gibbons, Sandavol, and Angle were the problem too.
Don't forget, papa Reid was the one that nominated Sandoval for his Federal judgeship. They both have their contributors, I just think Sandoval will show more restraint if taxes are pushed in the legislature. Rory trying to act tuff is simply laughable.
I agree with openrange.
If those contributors put their contributions in the general fund for use by the state, instead of into a candidates election fund, the budget would be balanced already.
What a waste of money.
