Reid has the green, so he’s advertising how green he is

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is putting that multimillion-dollar war chest to more use, going up with his third campaign ad more than a year before the election. This one is all about alternative energy.

See the ad

The ad’s script can be found below:

Announcer: It’s in the desert sky and deep underground, energy that’s made in America, fueling new Nevada jobs.

Sen. Reid: Nevada’s got what it takes to lead in alternative energy.

Announcer: And Harry Reid’s making it happen.  Bringing the energy industry to the state.  Fast-tracking new solar fields and wind farms.  One hundred four million for geothermal in the north.  And tax credits creating forty one thousand new Nevada jobs.  It’s happening here.  American energy.

Sen. Reid: And all the good jobs that come with it.  I’m Harry Reid and I approve this message.

Discussion: 3 comments so far...

  1. He's about as green as george w. bush.

Nevada will look like a mirror factory if Reid gets his way.

If you hate the sweeping views of Nevada and think desert tortoises are getting in the way of the green economy, than reid is your pimp!

  2. 41,000 new GOV'T JOBS Harry.

  3. Here's my rewrite GUARANTEED to sway the election:

Announcer: It's in the (deserted streets of Las Vegas in the scalding hot) desert (laying under the burning) sky and deep (seated anger in the electorate that's been driven) underground, (with all the negative) energy that's made (political candidates an anathema) in America, (and continues even now) fueling new (hatred of politicans for destroying good) Nevada jobs.

Sen. Reid: Nevada's got (decades to go to get even close to) what it takes to lead in alternative energy.

Announcer: And Harry Reid's making (calls to donors to make) it happen. Bringing the energy industry to the state (even though the President told conventions to stay away from Las Vegas). Fast-tracking (stimulus money for) new (make work jobs) in solar fields and wind farms (that they don't even want in Searchlight). One hundred four million (complaints) for (lying about) geothermal in the north. And tax credits (for the same rich people George Bush loved, who are now) creating forty one thousand new (complaints that there are still no) Nevada jobs. It's happening here. American (cars are still using oil for) energy.

Sen. Reid: And all the good (money I got as donations and the political promises of) jobs that come with it. I'm Harry Reid and I (wrote late last night but even so, still) approve this message.

No need to count ballots now, it's a slam-dunk.
