As Harry Reid's campaign released the 1981 police report on the well-documented attempt on his life, Gov. Jim Gibbons joined in the "fun" with talk show host Heidi Harris, bizarrely making light of the crude explosive device placed under the hood:
“I know very little about the investigation,” laughed Governor Gibbons on the program. “But my understanding is it was a telephone book and a shoe box… I guess unless Nextel who has about 100 billion phone books out there, and every household, would have a weapon of mass destruction in their house as a phone book. You have to wonder just what it is that they were doing.”

I'm a republican, but between Guv Gibbuns and Sue Loud-and nothing else, the State and National GOP are in trouble. Although both sides can take blame for the bi-partisan bickering, Loud-and should be ashamed of herself and Gibbuns should shut-up and see if he can win one negotiation while Guv and attempt to settle his divorce.
These guys couldn't win on issues if they were given the playbook. Pathetic!
Heidi Harris is about as interesting as watching grass grow.
Makes a good but unattractive drag queen. You would never know it's a man under all that makeup and wig.
Heidi Harris is about as dumb as they come. Ever talk to her/him/it? It is a major mistake. Smug and self absorbed, It does not have one original thought. What kind of nitwit continues to dwell on the fact of a "non-existent" bombing because s/he/it is too stupid to read the police report on the Reid bombing or is to stupid to even rent the movie "Casino"? Basically all that Harris, Sue Loud Mouth and the Luv Guv have proven is not only that they are ignorant but but that they continue to be ignorant even when their betters (such as Ralston) show them the proof of their error. Harris is even more egregious as s/he/it's claim to being a native Nevadan newsperson is laughable at best since he/she/it not only knew nothing about something that every moviegoer knows, but that has been proven. News hound? Harris looks like a hound but nothing else- no news, no research. harris is still laughing over someone possibly losing his life, even if it is Harry Reid.
I would have agreed with Caroll's comment but Harris is not a living being like grass. S/he/it is more like watching paint dry in its own air free universe. Maybe that is Harris' problem-- no air, no brain, no reality. S/he/it lives merely in Beck's conspiracy talking points.
Gov Gibbons is a lame duck idiot. Sue Lowden is a great figure which chose the wrong person to run against, even though the other newspaper thinks differntly. The Nevada Republican party is in shambles after having people like Gibbons as their fine example and yelling screaming morons that don't want help the common person. Heidi Harris & Sue Lowden are actually good people, too bad they are on the wrong side of the isle. As for the comment about the Reid car bomb, that was in bad taste; I can see that from a person that allegedly groped a woman in a parking garage & deleted the video feed from said garage.
You know, some things are inappropriate to joke about. But if you must joke about them, at least make the joke funny. Would someone please explain that to the governor?
Not to make light of the subject, but if the mob wanted Reid dead back in 1981, he wouldn't be here. They don't miss when it comes to individuals who could disrupt their "business" profits. Regardless of where you stand, I agree it is not something to joke about. However, it is also not something Reid should be using to show how "brave" he is. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and Reid knows he is in deep trouble when all polls show he is behind to anyone who runs against him.
Don't know what Heidi Harris looks like, but, Sue Lowden is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heartless Hateful Heidi, and her ilk on hate-talk radio will scare away the moderates and independents and Reid will win.
Even the other non-Pulitzer Prize winning paper in town didn't seem sympathetic to Heidi and Loudung.
Reid is being punished in the polls right now, but in the end, the voters will not want to give up the Senate Majority leader. Sue who? Take out a senior Senator and send in a greenie? Just think what Nevada will get from that arrangement.
Of course I think Reid is a little better than Ensign and much better than Gibbons when it comes to polls.
Harris and Beasley Broadcasting are throwbacks from the cold war era.
