Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's unfavorable rating is above 50 percent, but he still is almost within the margin of error against Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian, according to a new poll conducted by The Progressive Change Campaign Committee this weekend and Monday. The poll is a tool the group is using to push Reid to put a public option in the health care reform package -- the concept is favored by the public, according to the poll, which is posted at right from the group's web site.
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee, the PCCC helps bold progressive candidates run effective campaigns and win. It is led by former MoveOn staff, union organizers, Democratic campaigners, and the co-inventor of RSS.
Is there "poll" a little slanted?

Organizations like those mentioned in this article are very much/directly responsible for the decline of major cities like Detroit. While under the watchful eye of LWN's, Detroit evolved into little more than a wasteland populated by crack addicts and their brain damaged offspring. The city of Detroit and it's citizens are doomed for the next two or three generations.
If you want Las Vegas to start looking like Detroit go ahead and fully embrace LWN politics.

To planet earth:
You are wrong about Detroit. A one industry town is dominated by the leaders of that one industry. The auto exec's had their way with every aspect of life in greater Detroit, be it zoning, employment, or power over the political decisions. These executives turned their backs on the whole idea of competing in the small car market and when gas got expensive their gas guzzler market began to dry up. Their response was to build bigger vehicles and hope to capture what was left of that part of the market. Their primary competition for this ever smaller segment of the market was other Detroit auto makers. They ate each other and left the growing part of the market to the foreign automakers.
These "too big to fail" enterprises and their myopic decisionmakers ruined Detroit's economy. They had the power, the money, and the influence.
What Happens To Reid's Poll Ratings If Democrats Pass Only Expensive Forced Private Health Insurance? Consider this impact: After the Sub-prime Mortgage Crisis almost shut down the U.S. Economy, the Obama Government loaned billions of Taxpayer Dollars to bailout banks faced with massage mortgage defaults. To help stabilize the collapsing housing market and to secure bank mortgages, Congress approved short-term, home buyer cash incentives to boost home sales. But Foreclosures continue to escalate while banks already hold several million mortgages on homes worth less than their mortgage. Democrats, despite mounting bank failures and home values plummeting, appear obsessed with forcing mandatory Private health Insurance on Americans, including Taxes, Costs, Surcharges and Penalties that will prevent many middle class home buyers qualifying for Mortgages: middle class home buyers stabilize the housing market. Reduced demand (fewer home buyers) has caused lower home selling prices and lowered homes values that secure lender mortgages. That begs the question, "Who do Democrats expect to bailout the mortgage lenders next time?"
Declining or stagnate home sales generally cause higher unemployment in construction, manufacturing and financial institutions dependent on a stable housing market: lower home selling prices can cause a reduction in property taxes collected by county governments: the current drop in home values and property taxes has forced many county governments to layoff workers and ask federal agencies for money, further increasing federal deficits.
Is this one of those partisan polls that has three Dems for every Repub in the polling sample? Of course it is! Reid's got a ton of money in his coffers and they want their share.
So very true. The small businessmen who perceive themselves to be endangered species smell money the same as jackals smell blood and will not be quieted until they have their fangs in Sen. Reid's hips and those of his staff to pull him down and achieve genocide and then howl to divide the spoils among those who have aided in the kill.
This same scene evolves on a daily basis in small town Main Street Rural America. These jackals can smell someone or something that isn't theirs and they know that that is the kill they need to make to survive because of all the bs they have been talking for years isn't working to get them the living they want, i.e., spend a little time in Vegas on a holiday with the misses or spend a little time in the Florida Keys on a political holiday with Senator So and So and his wife; and to make the pot better may be some of the Royal family members from the Saudi country will be there to listen to your plans for the next generation and your ideology for the use of the money that we have coming to us for our use from Main Street. The best conveyors of such plans are the economic developers and their lawyers and their wives from small towns. Like to hunt phesants during hunting season or quail, we have a lodge in Tipton, Kansas that will fly you in, fix you up for a week of hunting and the phesants and dogs and great meals and great evenings all at the expense of Main Street USA, for small businessmen only.
For all of you who go go stir crazy out of their minds at the uttering of the word SOCIALISM, let's talk SOCIALISM. SOCIAL(ism) SECURITY! MEDICARE, MEDICAID, THE U.S. MILITARY, THE FEDERAL FREEWAY SYSTEM, THE CLEAN AIR ACT, THE CLEAN WATER ACT, RENEWED REQUIREMENTS FOR MORE LEVERAGABLE ASSETS TO PREVENT ANOTHER WALL STREET MELT DOWN.
