Republican Party Chairwoman Sue Lowden this week sent a letter to Secretary of State Ross Miller, asking him to bar certain voters from casting ballots because their registrations are incomplete. Issue is whether they should be allowed to correct the forms and be allowed to vote. I understand that 2,300 forms have been identified in urban counties, which may not sound like a lot but could have an impact in down-ticket races. My guess is this ends up in court. I have posted the letter at right.
Technorati

I don't understand why the Republican party is so scared of the People having a voice in elections.
Oh wait, I totally do. Its because Republicans believe white, affluent males should be the only ones able to vote.
Darn it!
I worked very hard with ACORN to get my dog registered 100x's in each county in Nevada.
My God! They better let him vote each time.
Obama deserves to win!!!!!!
JFNance32-
Get a life. You post on here all the time and you always say the most meaningless, partisan things. You should get the facts straight on the difference between "voter registration fraud" versus "voter fraud" and how both impact elections.
1. Groups that register voters MUST turn in the forms. ACORN, according to press accounts and the registrar of voters office in Clark County, turned in the forms with notes attached to forms that were possibly fraudulent registrations.
2. NO ONE, including your resourceful and highly intelligent dog, can vote if they don't actually show up. It is highly unlikely that the "paid government poll workers" and the "paid by special interest group monitors" would allow your dog to vote, no matter how charming he might be. The same could be said for anyone stupid enough to try and vote as Tony Romo or Terrell Owens.
3. Voter fraud occurs when your dog, or someone less charming that is trying to pass themselves off as a Dallas Cowboy, actually commits the act of voting. At that point, your charming dog and the Dallas Cowboy impersonator will be charged (and you will probably be charged as well for aiding and abetting your dog).
4. This is a partisan ploy by Sue Lowden, plain and simple. If she succeeds at anything it will most likely be at gaining 3-5 seconds of Katherine Harris type fame. If this effort doesn't help her raise money for her party or her candidates, then why do it? It's just not strategic, which pretty much sums up the Republican Party's efforts this cycle.
So JFNance32, why don't you step away from the keyboard, go play fetch with your dog, and get some fresh air.
Get over it Rebuglicans. Your time is over. the tighter you try to hold on, the more you lose your grip (on reality).
My dog can vote as many times as he wants to via absentee system.
Your dog voting for McCain 300 times won't help. Obama by 10% on the 4th...
ACORN: Vote early and often!
Fake IDs, Fake names and fake registrations = ACORN.
Lowden is very American in insisting that registrations be legally handled; and not just shredded like the liberal ACORN efforts for the Democrat / liberal party.
Election fraud; thy name is liberal.
JFNance32 intentionally spews falsehoods about the impact of false registrations, otherwise his points would not matter. It's just more Rushion.
The questionable registrations will not effect the election at all and any statements to the contrary are false.
Look at NVMakz pointing fingers again.
Wait, who was just arrested for voter registration fraud?
Ummmmm.....

Oh that's right, a REPUBLICAN.
Keep drinking the koolaid, NVMakz.

ACORN has tens of thousands subverting election laws nationally - who are protected via race-baiting by liberals and their Democrat Party.
This (R) will and should for sure face justice - as "99's " lazy-lawyering fails the leap to moral equivalence, LOL!!
Sad and impotent on your part. Lazy lawyering, lol!
Kool-aid's always the go-to drink for da liberal. Like warm blood to the vampire.
The difference between ACORN and the typical right wing attempts to effect voting, is that the right wing attempts are intended to throw an election (Ohio 2004/Florida 2000) and the fake ACORN registrations were made with the dollars in mind, versus who actually wins.
There is little (if any) possibility that any questionable registrations will result in actual votes. No matter what the righties say, assertions to the contrary are false.
As is illustrated by this article, the righties are now pulling out the stops to try to keep minorities from voting. This is now the typical pattern for the republicans, since their platforms are so poorly received by those in need.
Certain voters = people who didn't complete their registration on time.
Because a high proportion of those people are in urban areas we assume they are minorities.
Because they are likely to be minorities we (err the news) must assume the denial of their right to vote is based on racism.
I really wouldn't go so far as to say Republicans are pulling all the stops to keep minorities from voting.
Let's compare, shall we?
NVMakz makes the baseless allegation that ACORN has "tens of thousands subverting election laws nationally." Conveniently, he can't link to a single case of an ACORN person arrested this year. Not one prosecuted this year, either LOL! Someone's dunked his head into Limbaugh's ACORN boogeyman koolaid.
But his moral outrage is conveniently stifled when a Republican is arrested for the same act which he CONDEMNS ACORN for perpetrating (but impotently can't prove.)
Haha! Still having your comments removed left and right, NVMakz? And you're gonna lose the election?
First Romney, now McCain. Can't catch a break, can you?
Let's compare:
Making the case, as "99" stumbles around flailing - that one Republican equals tens of thousands of ACORN types corroding election laws.
I have many State AGs and SOSs backing me - "99" has his lead-helmet disseminations.
My laughter is regarding the moral equivalence arguments of putzs like "99".
Perhaps "one Republican IS equal to tens of thousands of ACORN types"(mq), ???? Maybe in Americanism and wanting elections to be fair/square = not a rotten antique of what America was before ACORN came along.
All this attributing motives to me ("moral outrage is conveniently stifled") = a laughable dodge from one (99) on the wrong side of America.
Another liberal whipped, pureed and flambeed = "99" times over!
That's a whole lot of blather to admit you don't have a single ACORN person arrested/prosecuted this year.
Meanwhile, the Republicans have someone who is currently being prosecuted for voter registration fraud.
It's all in your mind, NVMakz, since you can't prove otherwise!
Hey ksand here's a Makz impression,
long quote
nonsensical rebuttal probably cribbed from Rush and co
ad hominem attack about you and liberals
ad hominem attack about you and liberals
comparison about himself and a fictional character from a philosophically discredited author.
repeat ad nauseum
ps nice argument. Both sides get into it, but it just seems like republicans only care about ACORN and not the excesses within themselves. Didn't Jesus say, "Don't mind the speck in your neighbor's eye when there's a plank in your own."
UNLVpud: Barry's only real talents are telling everyone what they want to hear and being able to read a teleprompter. In the exchange with Joe the Unlicensed Plumber, he had the bearing of an intellectual and physical coward. Perhaps he needed a smoke or a snort.
Just like our current president, minus the fifth of JD. Old issue, next.
In other states, they have already caught ACORN fraud registered voters voting.
ZOMG, jfnance32! Then surely someone from ACORN was arrested, right?
Right?
Can someone just point out a single person from ACORN who was arrested or prosecuted this year?
If not, I'm pretty sure that proves how it's all just your Limbaugh hot air.
I believe that are many grand juries that will eventually turn into ACORN arrests. It takes time for the wheel of justice to turn.
ACORN seems to do this every election year and Obama just LOVES them.
In the past, ACORN workers have been arrested and convicted for violating election laws.

2008...both Democrats and Republicans on an Ohio election board is asking justice to indict ACORN workers
To all of the video gamers out there with ADD, it may take the FBI six months to a year to investigate such a massive, coordinated scheme that may fall under the RICO Act.
I wonder if the current president ever illegally sold, transferred, or distributed alcoholic beverages. By the way, I didn't vote for Bush on either occasion and I'm certainly not a fan.
If Obama wins, it will represent an historic over-correction that will be remedied in 2012. Red: how many presidents that came out of the Senate ever won a second term? You may go now.
Ok, so no arrests this year, then?
But NVMakz said that there were "THOUSANDS" of ACORN people defrauding election registrations across the United States.
I mean, THOUSANDS of people breaking the law, nation-wide, and not a single arrest in 2008?
Meanwhile, a Republican was arrested. That didn't take long for the "wheels of justice" to arrest him.
You guys have no idea what you're talking about. You've been spoon-fed this drivel from Limbaugh and Hannity and you just repeat it without considering... oh, I dunno... FACTS!?!?!
Keep drinking the ACORN boogeyman koolaid!
But Bush did get pulled over for drunk driving (nothing like putting yourself and others in bodily danger), and Bush has done his share of the Columbian bam bam fuel. This isn't moral equivalency; it's stating that we already did this once before. Moving on...
From your own beloved, conservative, LVRJ...
"...the supposed ACORN scandal here appears to be more shenanigans than scam."
Aw darn it. I guess you righties are bloviating again. No scandal. Sorry. Real scandals are reserved for those actually trying to throw an election (i.e Bush 2000/2004), and not a few idiots trying to make a some extra bucks by registering members of the Dallas Cowboys.
Sad. Can't you guys come up with something real? Try doing your own research instead of trusting Rush, Sean and Billo. They've already defended their right to lie and "make up the news", so you should not trust them to tell the truth. They're not!
As an aside, Joe the Plumber today had his back taxes paid by listeners of a radio station. His 15 minutes of fame must have paid off.
NVMakz, could you please provide a citation to some proof for your statement that "I have many State AGs and SOSs backing me"??? And while there no doubt will be some people affiliated with ACORN (among the hundreds of thousands who work for them) who cross the line (a small proportion as compared to percentage of Congressional Republicans connected to Jack Abramoff, for example) the small number of uncoordinated and individually undertaken improper votes that result from registrations that ACORN unwittingly passed on, Republicans like Sue Lowden are trying to essentially disenfranchise thousands of voters on a wholesale basis. So, who's the greater threat to democracy here?
"Jay":
How many states are in various stages of investigations of the election-fraud organization, ACORN?? That's how many.
rottenacorn.com
After the election and they have more time to devote to the efforted corrosion of election laws by the fraud-based organization, ACORN = we'll see how much they helped in influencing the "wealth spreader", Barry Obama.
Liberal mouthpieces say it's not a big deal - for years. Like liberal congressionals say that all these bad-mortgages are not a problem - for years. Like liberals have promised pay-as-you-go = for years. Liberals approve fraud and corrosion in SO many areas of life, it's not possible to type the various ways all out - let alone the ways liberal corrode that we do NOT know about, yet.
No one is "disenfranchised" in America today because of the myriad of ways one can register and vote. ACORN focuses on the stupid and the vulnerable, mainly Democratic voters. More angry-types to take to the streets when liberal party bosses "claim" some kind of voter fraud they originally caused, imo.
What exactly was Abramoff convicted of, besides being the latest poster-boy for liberals to unfairly flog Republicans with? Did he defraud "The People" - like liberal Congressionals re: bad-debt mortgages? Nope.
Being expert enough to comment, lol, you can look up the $$ given to liberals and access conferred. Being so new here, you haven't earned the gravitas to be served!
Liberals ARE the greater threat to Democracy. Liberals pick one Republican to counter tens of thousands of liberals working to fulfill Saul Alinsky's / Barack Obama's vision of "Yes, We Can" !!
See, all that text, but NVMakz fails to meet the burden of proof. In the end, he fails to show a single instance of an ACORN employee or volunteer being arrested or prosecuted this year.
NVMakz claims that "tens of thousands" of ACORN employees/volunteers are "corroding" the election, but can't point to a SINGLE person arrested or prosecuted. Why, that's the very definition of lazy lawyering!
Tens of thousands, according to him! Not ONE prosecuted. Just shows how effective Limbaugh's junior varsity-level brainwashing can be when dealing with the willingly misled - like NVMakz.
No proof, just inert finger pointing and endless rhetoric?
Bloviating, thy name is NVMakz.
I love the way the Media down plays Obama's involvement with Acorn , the 832,000 he gave them and tried to hide and the DOCUMENTED Voter Registration and VOTER FRAUD taking place in ohio and elsewhere. Everyone should be concerned they are stealing votes on a grand scale to put Obama in office!
