You can never have too many giant squid stories

NOW

They caught another giant squid today.

The last one I wrote about was off the coast of San Diego in July. This one was in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Louisiana. It was 19 1/2 feet long and weighed 103 pounds.

"This find illustrates how little we know about what is swimming around in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico," said one of the marine biologists.

Meanwhile, the search continues for Mothra, Gigan, Megalon, Gamera, Smog Monster, Three-Headed Monster, Monster Zero and any other freak of nature the great Godzilla may have tangled with in the movies.

THEN

Bobby Cox announced today he would be stepping down as Braves manager at the end of next season.

That might be major news in Atlanta, provided they don't catch a giant squid down there, too.
