Pro wrestling at a swap meet — sounds like fun to me

NOW

This might not be like the amalgamation of peanut butter and chocolate, but on Sunday there is going to a pro wrestling card in Las Vegas at an indoor swap meet.

On second thought, let me have one of those Reese's.

The body slams and eye gouges will begin at 4 p.m. at the Rancho Swap Meet at 2901 W. Washington Ave. (just off the Rancho exit on U.S. 95), which the Travel 2 Vegas Web site rates as the fourth-best local swap meet. (Behind Broad Acres, Fantastic and the Sampler Shoppe, if you're scoring at home.)

Former WCW wrestler Mike Modest, who I must confess I've never heard of, is on the card. So are the Young Bucks and the Cutler Brothers and a bunch of guys who wear masks. While it might be possible to hold a pro wrestling match at an indoor swap meet without Lucha Libre and a guy named Mike Modest, it is not advised.

The good thing about this card is that on the way out, you can probably get a heck of a deal on a painting of dogs playing poker.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're expecting John Cena and the Nitro Girls (who must be 45 by now), you will probably be disappointed.

But I've been to some of these small cards, and they usually are a lot of fun.

General admission is $12. Family 4-Packs are $35. I don't know how much a painting of dogs playing poker costs.

THEN

When I was kid, there was a pro wrestler named Wilbur Snyder whose signature move was called "The Abdominal Stretch."

One time, I put my little sister in the abdominal stretch and my parents sent me to my room without supper.
