Jays say a mouthful by calling up 51s’ Marc R.

NOW

Now he's Jamie Campbell and Jerry Howarth's problem.

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled 51s pitcher Marc Rzepczynski who will start tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

Campbell and Howarth are the Jays' TV and radio play-by-play broadcasters, respectively.

Good luck, fellas.

In a related move, the 51s announced that their play-by-play man, Russ Langer, has removed himself from the 15-day disabled list after pulling several tongue and throat muscles trying to pronounce Rzepczynski's name upon his recall from Double-A New Hampshire.

THEN

While writing this blog the name of Billy Grabarkewitz came to mind.

What I remember most about Billy Grabarkewitz is that his name in the boxscore -- Gr'brk'wtz -- looked like Egyptian hieroglyphics.

And that at the end of the career, when he was with the Cubs, the Wrigley Field organist would serenade his every at-bat with a jaunty rendition of Jim Stafford's "My Girl Bill."
