Trace of rain in Las Vegas Valley

Las Vegas got the first droplets of rain in more than a month today.

The National Weather Service reported that a trace of rain fell from showers crossing the Las Vegas Valley from southeast to the northwest today starting about 5:30 p.m.

Weather spotters from Henderson to Summerlin reported a trace of rain with the clouds. The rain measured 0.02 of an inch, the Weather Service said.

Temperatures dropped in the valley from 87 degrees at 4 p.m. To 77 degrees at 6 p.m.

The Anthem area in Henderson reported wind gusts to 30 mph.

Although May is considered one of the driest months of the year, April brought no rain at all, the fourth time in weather history in Las Vegas.
