The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning this afternoon for Temple Bar, east of Willow Beach, on Lake Mead.

A thunderstorm moving north at 6 mph was pounding the Temple Bar area, where boaters frequent a marina.

Weather service forecasters advised motorists not to drive through flooded roads.

The Las Vegas Valley was under cloudy skies with a temperature of 97 degrees this afternoon -- but no rain had fallen so far.

If the cloud cover remains intact over the Valley, storm activity in Southern Nevada's urban areas will not materialize the way it did Monday, weather service forecasters said.
