An air conditioner in an employee break room on the 20th floor of Bally's hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip burned up shortly after 5 p.m., but there were no hotel evacuations or injuries.
The Clark County Fire Dept. responded to a two-alarm fire, which is standard protocol in a high-rise building, said Scott Allison, fire department spokesman.
Fire crews checked the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st floors and there was no spread of fire or smoke, Allison said.
The fire department turned the resort over to hotel security by 5:45 p.m., Allison said.
