Monte Carlo fire update

The MGM Mirage issued an update on Tuesday afternoon:

The assessment and discovery phase continues at Monte Carlo on Tuesday. Reduced winds allowed rooftop work to proceed and crews began installation of scaffolding and other equipment that will provide a platform for work and inspection. Consultants, engineers and MGM MIRAGE development professionals continue their inspections and analysis which will lead to a timeline for the reopening of the hotel. No reopening date has yet been set.

Hundreds of workers are currently on site working at the direction of Belfor, the General Contractor retained for the remediation project.

Hundreds of Monte Carlo employees also continue working inside the hotel on clean-up efforts and in preparation for the hotel’s reopening. Employees should continue to call the Employee Hotline (702-693-7005) daily to determine if they are needed at the hotel.

This morning, six-thousand pounds of perishable food items from the Monte Carlo restaurants were made to the Three Square food bank, which serves the Las Vegas community.
