Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson gave his annual State of the City address Thursday at Green Valley Ranch.

The third term mayor and former gubernatorial candidate touted the unfathomable growth that has been seen in the states second largest city.

And, he said, that growth will continue in redevelopment areas around Boulder Highway and near the Henderson Executive Airport off St. Rose Parkway, where the master-planned Inspirada development recently opened.

He also touched on some of the typical Nevada issues: land preservation, energy and the potential for mass transportation.

The speech will be rebroadcast several times over the next week on area government television stations.
