Ceremony to honor CC Fire Department
The County Commission will recognize the Clark County Fire Department tomorrow for its speedy and efficient response to the Monte Carlo fire.
Commission Chairman Rory Reid praised the group of 120 fire personnel — including those from the cities of Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas — for their effective performance that put out the fire, which was caused by steel workers operating on the roof, in a little over an hour.
"This event showed us again that we have the best firefighters in the world," Reid said. "Thanks to their rapid response, teamwork, training and creative tactics the fire was quickly contained and knocked down.”
The recognition ceremony will take place at 9:15 a.m. during the County Commission meeting at the Commission Chambers, which is on the first floor of the Government Center at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway in downtown Las Vegas.
