Hot dog eating champs to chomp in Vegas

A chance to win a spot in Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, N.Y. is headed to the New York of Las Vegas.

On Thursday, May 8, at 3 p.m., the Nevada Hot Dog-Eating Championship will take place in front of the Brooklyn Bridge at the New York-New York on the Strip.

So far, the line up includes the man who broke the 50-dog barrier to win the 2007 International Hot Dog Eating Contest, Joey Chestnut. In addition, rivals Rich "The Locust" LeFevre of Henderson and Ron "The Optic" Koch of Las Vegas will face off for the title.

The Nathan's Famous 2008 qualifying rounds will visit more than 12 cities including Atlanta, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and San Francisco. For more details on entering, visits Nathan's Famous.
