Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno performs on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.

Chef Frankie Moreno?

If he weren’t dishing out amazing sounds nightly in the aptly named show, “Frankie Moreno Live at the Stratosphere,” who knows … you might be tasting some of the Las Vegas star’s creations in a restaurant.

“I really enjoy cooking. I cook all the time, and I would like to think I'm pretty good at it. I learned from my Grandma Lilly,” Moreno said.

Anyone who has seen his show is glad he chose to be a performer. He’s been compared to vintage Las Vegas acts but performs almost all original material. Catch him Wednesday through Saturday nights and see for yourself.

“The show has been going fantastic. People keep showin' up, so that's good. We try to update the show weekly and make changes for the locals and for ourselves to keep it fresh as much as possible,” he said.

Moreno is from Santa Cruz, Calif., but is quickly becoming a Las Vegas mainstay. Next Thursday, Moreno will debut a new song at a charity event.

“I LOVE Las Vegas. … I’m happy to be supporting United Way of Southern Nevada and all of their charitable platforms, such as education and health. It's a great thing to be a part of,” he said. “I'll be debuting a song called ‘Hello World’ in front of all of the community leaders and volunteers they are honoring. It will be their new anthem. They haven't had one in 50 years from what I understand.”

Moreno also has a recipe for success in the Chase for the Golden Nerf.

“I play dirty!” he joked. “I’m a football fan, but I really don't have much time to follow any sports these days on TV. I'm so busy. But I love a good game!”

He also loves the competition, particularly against the person with whom he shares headlining accolades at the Stratosphere — “Pin Up’s” Claire Sinclair.

“I’m going home with the Golden Nerf! Sorry Claire, but this one's mine,” he said.
