Frankie plays the tower
This “Tangerine Honey” song sort of sticks with you.
Frankie Moreno is playing that original song, a highlight in his show at the Stratosphere, on Oct. 9 during “Dancing With the Stars: All Stars” on ABC. He’ll be appearing with “DWTS” pro dancer Lacey Schwimmer, who also is a member of the “Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas” cast at Tropicana.
As Moreno said today, “Tangerine Honey” is to be the first segment of a two-song medley. The second half is his familiar cover of Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Rockin’ My Life Away,” the song that closes each show at the Stratosphere.
“DWTS” producers were wowed by a clip from the performance, shown to them by Schwimmer, of Moreno playing the piano with his back to the instrument and his arms crossed across his chest. He finishes the number while laying on his back across the top of the piano, all of which make for good TV.
Written by the Moreno brothers (Frankie, Tony and Ricky) during a trip to Paris a couple of years ago, “Tangerine Honey” is a highlight on Moreno’s superb new CD, conveniently titled “Frankie Moreno,” which was released last week during a party and performance at the Stratosphere.
