The cover of Frankie Moreno’s self-titled release.

Another CD release, the long-awaited self-titled release by Frankie Moreno, is being made official Wednesday night at Stratosphere.
The night begins with an invitation-only release party in the hotel’s showroom at 7 p.m., followed by Moreno’s show at 8 p.m. I’m not too familiar with the Moreno show (cough), but I heard it’s very good.
I’ve heard a few samples of the CD, recorded at Moreno’s home studio with his 10-piece backing band and mixed at Studio at the Palms by guitar and studio great Pat Thrall. It’s a powerhouse.
The song “Tangerine Honey” is noteworthy because the folks at Jelly Belly have developed a candy in that flavor. There is more to say about that song, the CD and Moreno’s various projects -- and soon.
