Steve Wynn says he wants his upcoming wedding to Andrea Hissom to be a largely private affair.
Hmmm.
To quote those on the casino floor who helped Wynn build his resort empire, “Good luck with that.”

Nonetheless, Wynn and Hissom are doing their best to keep the media at bay when they celebrate their marriage during a two-day fete Friday and Saturday at Wynn Las Vegas. Hissom has done such an effective job that she was not around today, when Wynn met members of Las Vegas media outlets in a new greeting room at his villa adjacent to the Wynn Las Vegas Country Club. He was alone.
Hissom, still reluctant to assume the role of public figure that Wynn’s ex-wife, Elaine, has played for decades, did not attend the small but stately summit.
“We have been together at red carpet events, but when you’re talking about being a public figure, she is not that,” Wynn said, telling a story about how he and Hissom were to attend an event at Planet Hollywood with Andre Agassi and Stefani Graf. They repeatedly asked the limo driver to take them through a side entrance to avoid the crush of media packed behind the velvet rope on the event’s red carpet.
But they were led straight to the carpet anyway.
“There were all these cameras going off, which is something we’d tried to avoid,” Wynn said. The couple can expect more of the same as they are formally and legally linked as one.
We did learn today that Hissom will take Wynn’s last name. Wynn confirmed that Clint Eastwood will serve as best man, returning the favor to Wynn after Wynn was best man at the wedding of Eastwood and Dina Ruiz at Wynn’s home at Shadow Creek Golf Course in 1996 (Wynn dropped the ring that day; Eastwood has promised to do the same Saturday).
Wynn’s daughters Kevyn and Gillian Wynn will be in attendance but have no formal role in the ceremony, “which is how they want it,” as Wynn said (it has already been reported by my colleague Robin Leach that Elaine Wynn will be attending Warren Buffett’s annual economic symposium in Omaha, Neb., this weekend). Wynn said 250 couples are invited, a fair amount fewer than the 1,000 some reports anticipated to take part in what some observers have dubbed Las Vegas’ own royal wedding.
Wynn winces at such claims, but I’ll make it, too: This is in essence Las Vegas’ own royal wedding.
What else was disclosed during Wynn’s pin-balling, hour-long session with print and TV journalists? Read on:
• Wynn says that the video that first surfaced on TMZ of Wynn posing in an Elvis-inspired jumpsuit, wig and shades was shot without his knowledge or approval. He was working with Kenny Ortega on a set of stills to be played for wedding guests. As he said, footage of him posing as Elvis was shot from a hidden camera in the chapel and released online. When asked if he was going to take action in the aftermath of this video going viral, he said, “No, we have a wedding to plan.”
• Aside from Eastwood, notable members of Wynn’s wedding party are financier Michael Milken and Wynn Resorts executives Marc Schorr and Mike Maddox. Hissom’s bridesmaids are all close friends of hers, and the total number of wedding participants is 14, seven apiece.
• Wynn declined to specify what sort of entertainment would be provided, wanting his guests to be surprised. In an unrelated note, Wynn’s friend Donald Trump is expected, and Wynn finds him one of the more entertaining individuals on TV today.
• Wynn and Hissom are still vegan, having opted for the lifestyle after viewing the jarring DVD “Eating” by nutritionist Mike Anderson, who is among the invited guests.
• Wynn and Hissom are not adhering to the tradition of spending their final night as an unmarried couple apart. “It’s too late for that,” Wynn said, laughing. The two have been living together for about two years.
• Wynn says that, at age 69, he has no use for a bachelor party, which is a bummer to at least two and maybe three members of the media crew in attendance. He declined to answer a question about whether the couple signed a prenuptial agreement.
• Hissom’s dress was made by Monique Lhuillier. Wynn said he believed the bridesmaids would be donning mauve dresses.
• Hissom and Wynn originally wanted to exchange vows during the month of May, but the ballroom being used for the reception was booked on those dates.
• Wynn dovetailed into politics, again assigning responsibility for the nation’s deficit on President Obama’s economic policies and decrying “Obamacare,” which he says is costing his company millions in health care coverage for its employees. He’s a big fan of Gov. Brian Sandoval (“He is incredibly qualified”) and Nevada Senate Majority Leader Stephen Horsford (“Very ambitious, and that is not a bad thing”). He said the economy in Las Vegas would improve, “Eleven is better than 10,” he said referring to last year and this.
But when asked if he would consider a run for public office, Wynn gave a rare one-word answer: “No.”
Who has the time? He’s about to be a new husband, after all.

They say that with age comes wisdom. Not sure about this one...Within 5 years this one will leave and take a billion of his dollars.
"Steve Wynn hopes to keep wedding private -- is this possible?"
I agree, Mr. Katsilometes. His wedding should be private. Because they are his wishes.
But there is a trade off regarding that.
Mr. Steve Wynn needs to stay off of political panels on CNN News (like he did once before in the past) and, because of his ultra conservative right wingnut way out there views of the world, needs to stop embarassing Las Vegas with his stupidity regarding false Republican Party alternative universe remarks about President Obama and his entire administration.
I think it's a fair trade.
First let's acknowlege the "alter cocker" is at least making this girl an honest women by marrying her. That being said every man on this blog knows that he dumped the former Mrs. Wynn for a newer fresher "model" that will keep his pipes clean. She will keep him on his toes for awhile, until, ahemm, the newness wears off! You can bet your bippie that a Pre Nup was signed. Wynn isnt crazy and it cost him $750 million to jettison the old baggage, so I am sure a generous agreement was reached with the new soon to be Mrs.She aint no dope either, and probably cant believe the luck she has fallen into marrying this guy! Final comment, if you view the TMZ site and see the video of Wynn and the Mrs., check out the attire. It says it all, right down to the tackiness and the sleaze. But hey, I'll admit I am very jealous. I would more than happy to be a billionare, make a fool out of myself and have some young arm candy that is willing to take care of "Daddy"! Like the man said, "If you got it, flaunt it baby, flaunt it!"
Private? Then why did he make a fool of himself dressing up and mocking Elvis like one of his stupid impersonators do and like them turn Elvis into a cartoon character.
Elvis was much more to the world and a helluva lot more than Wynn, the ego maniac, will ever be. It's not surprising he's a good friend of Donald Trump, they probably debate who is the greatest and most marvelous human being in the world.
I wouldn't go to his wedding even if I was invited and thankfully I wasn't.
He wants to keep his wedding private... by sitting down and doing interviews talking about his wedding, by dressing up as Elvis and prancing around for the media to announce his wedding, by posing for the Sun's photographers...
If he wants to keep his wedding private he should have it in Monaco, and save us from all the attention whoring.
Yes, keep it private. Everyone will be tuned into the Prince William & Kate wedding this weekend. Hey, is Wynn marrying someone young enough to be his grand-daughter? Thanks, for the gratuitous slam on "Obamacare costing him millions" for his employees. Stay classy, Comrade Wynn. Do you complain to your communist Chinese partners in Macau about their universal health care?
so in an effort to keep his wedding quiet he holds a media event and tells everyone (who will tell everyone else) when and where it will be and some TMZ type details to keep the celebrity groupies interested? i truly hope mr. katsilometes meant his headline to be ironic.
Good one, Art!
I, for one, cannot fathom what either of them sees in the udder...
besides the obvious, of course.
Frankenstein, and the Bride of Frankenstein.
Maybe the reception should be held at the Hammargren Hanging Gardens.
Good luck to the both of them!
What's the big deal? I mean: Steve Wynn is NOT Tom Jones, but he's a seriously successful business man, who will have his way, one way or the other.
Anyway both of them are aged over 21, so if you believe in karma, they will get what they deserve. In this case: they deserve each other.
All the best of luck for the couple and GBY.
Best wishes and kind regard
Chuck Norris
Wants to keep it private..and meets with the media?
This putz thrives on publicity. His super sized ego
demands it.
Wynn has proven he is senile when he fails to recognize Bush"s contributition of eight years of failed economic policies and the cost of a lying war which led to the failed economy in America. But Wynn still gets his tax breaks as a wealthy tax payer while the average American and Nevadan pony up thier share of taxes and his. I wonder who in Wynns family served in the armed forces so that he could become a billionaire in America while others died and suffered?
So what? He's 69, and billions after that.
"Some observers have dubbed Las Vegas' own royal wedding."
Besides you, Robin Leach, the other media that Wynn has granted interviews to about his private wedding, who has dubbed this an equivalent of the royal wedding? No one. Stop feeding the egos of the big egos, dude. You don't want to be known as a press release recycler...
He'd be a complete idiot to not have a pre-nup.
He should not fool himself. He is as much the side show as Donald Trump. Wynn should have Trump as his best man!
Good luck for both of you. Best one will win.

As a settling down coment for all the others:
I.d go hit/strike while the iron (maiden) is hot.
If he has anymore plastic surgery, he will have that "surprised look" all the time.
I am 52 and wouldn't marry one of my boyfriends because he was 65. I didn't even think it would work with him being that much older than me. I certainly didn't want the responsibility of taking care of him in the next 5 or so years. Forget that. This girl has to be attracted to the stack of money he is sitting on. I can't believe she would give him a second look if he was joe smo. Not to mention how active could a 69 year old guy be on an intimate level?
She is certainly a good actress for sure. Talk about faking it.
