Sunset Thomas and Mayor Oscar Goodman livin’ it up at City Hall, July 27, 2009.

Sunset Thomas, AVN Hall of Famer and star of HBO’s brothel reality show “Cathouse,” traded her G-string for a digital audio recorder last week. The adult film star and would-be sports writer filed an interview with Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman for the Web site doghouseboxing.com. I expect this was once the favored site of Michael Vick, which has nothing to do with Sunset’s give-and-take with Oscar B.
For this week’s Monday List, I’ll chart the Top Sex -- er, Six -- Highlights of Thomas/Goodman:
1. Goodman tells Thomas he was once awakened at 2 a.m. by Don King (over the phone), who was ending his business partnership with heavyweight champion Larry Holmes and “needed something written up” in an impromptu meeting at the Riviera. Goodman “threw himself together and got down there within the hour.”
2. Goodman tells Thomas he knew Sonny Liston from his days in Philadelphia. Goodman used to dine at the Chuck Wagon Deli, above which Liston, it seemed, lived.
3. Thomas writes that Goodman “spoke of the gentleness of the fighter who had the hands the size of hormone-enhanced hams!”
4. Asked who would win a fight between Bugsy Siegel and Tony “The Ant” Spilotro, Goodman asked, “With just fists?” Yes, with just fists, Sunset said. “The Ant would have destroyed him.”
5. Asked for his favorite Vegas fight memory, Goodman said the 1963 rematch between Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson at the Las Vegas Convention Center, a brisk bout won by Liston with a ringing first-round KO.
6. Upon finishing the interview, Thomas writes, “We got up to leave, and I just had to embrace my mayor (I’m a registered Clark County voter). He squeezed nice, and I asked him (he’s kind of tall) about the future of prizefighting, and he cautioned that it’s important for Vegas and boxing to hold on to their edge -- to keep that romantic, Damon Runyon mystique alive.”
Not noted was if there were any showgirls in Goodman’s office during the interview. Somehow I expect not. It wasn’t a news conference.

What's great about that comment, aside from the fact that it's great, is that Goodman won't read it.

Now i know the big reason why Nevada dos not have home rule I mean he had time for this. I bet the F.B.I. is laughing there ass off over this picture.

Phargo, I've offered to actually call the mayor and read selections to him over the phone. Of course, I make that offer in jest. But he's stridently anti-Internet.
