Rudner extends Harrah’s run until the end of time

Comedian Rita Rudner, who has been doing her act on the Strip since what seems like the beginning of time (about eight years, in Las Vegas time), recently announced that she will extend her Harrah's residency through January 2012.

That, of course, is the year in which the Mayan Long Count Calendar completes its cycle, signalling the end of the world as we know it.

Many astrophysicists, bestselling authors and residents of Sedona claim that in 2012 the sun will rise in the middle of the Milky Way Galaxy, causing an alignment between the earth, sun, and the galactic center, precipitating doomsday

And some theorize that a currently unknown planet -- called Planet X or Nibiru -- that only enters the local solar system every 3600 years, will return in 2012, heralding the apocalypse.
