The Rock tees off — toward CityCenter

Just got the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine, and flipped to its cover story on pro-wrestler turned leading man Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. As you've probably heard elsewhere, The Rock is rolling all over Las Vegas lately -- filming scenes for Disney's upcoming "Race to Witch Mountain" and sticking around for next week's CineVegas film festival, which features a screening of "Get Smart," in which he co-stars with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway.

Anyway, on page 25, there's a big photo of The Rock standing atop of the Planet Hollywood Hotel, golf club in hand, golf ball teed up, ready to take a swing -- directly at the in-construction CityCenter project. C'mon Mr. Rock, read the local newspaper. They don't need no broken windows over there!

The July 15 screening of "Get Smart" will benefit The Rock Foundation and its special program, Project Knapsack. Founded by Johnson, who will attend the event, The Rock Foundation provides programs designed to enrich and empower the lives and self-esteem of children worldwide. The organization’s educational initiative is exhibited by its support of Project Knapsack, a pen-pal and school-supply program between American students and their peers in developing countries. The program strives to enhance the current level of primary education and reduce barriers affecting student learning. Prior to the screening, Johnson will be presented with a Brenden Celebrity Star by Johnny Brenden, president and CEO of Brenden Theatres, at the Brenden Theatres at the Palms Casino Resort.

Confidential to Mr. Johnson: You're looking a little like a Rachel Zoe client/victim. Eat something! Vegas will be happy to feed you.
