Comedian Kathy Griffin scores two Emmy noms

Comedian Kathy Griffin has been making a big deal about last year's Emmy win. In Wednesday's Las Vegas Sun interview with Griffin, who plays two shows at Mandalay Bay on Friday, we noted that it wouldn’t be surprising at all if she legally changed her name to “Emmy-winning comedian Kathy Griffin.”

If you manage to get tickets for her Las Vegas show, expect to hear a lot more about the Emmys -- the 2008 primetime Emmy nominations were announced today, and Griffin scored two, for Outstanding Reality Program (her competition includes "Antiques Roadshow," "Dirty Jobs," "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" and "Intervention") and Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special (up against Bill Maher, the late George Carlin, James Taylor, Don Rickles and the Kennedy Center Honors.
