As celebrities go, the Stanley Cup is perfect

The Stanley Cup was out on display in 2009 as part of a breakfast featuring NHL players and former players at Simon restaurant at Palms Place in Las Vegas.

The Stanley Cup will make an appearance Thursday night during the Las Vegas Wranglers game, where it will be displayed and accessible for all fans to see and touch and take photos. No one can understate the meaning it has for so many.

  1. What a great article on Lord Stanley's Cup and its appearance at the Orleans Arena tonight. I remember one of the first time I saw it, was at the Wranglers game a few years back. I thought my most cherished moment with the Holy Grail of hockey was in 2002, at the SLC Olympic Games. All the trophies were displayed in a building across from the E-Center(where all the Men's hockey games were played). That is where I first met Mr. Pritchard. He told me I could touch the "cup" if I wanted too, I told him that touching it is reserved for only the best hockey players that have actually won the cup. He was so great telling me stories about his adventures with the cup. Then this last summer I was honored to be a volunteer at the NHL awards show. I was escorting Coach Paul McLean and low and behold, the "Holy Grail" came up behind us, with Dustin Brown from the LA Kings carrying it with Mr. Pritchard not far behind. Coach Paul and I just stopped and had to admire it in all its glory. I was so awe inspired to see Dustin Brown carring it,(I have only seen Mr. Pritchard with the cup). Now once again, Mr. Pritchard and I have a date at the Orleans arena tonight to have a picture with the Stanley Cup. Thank you Billy for comparing it to a Van Gogh, very interesting comparison.
