The days are scorchers! I don’t know how anyone ventures out into the hot sun in the middle of a day like any we’ve had this week. I’d rather head out when the sun is just starting to go down—it’s still at least 105 degrees, but the sun isn’t blaring in your face, reminding you of how warm it is.
I headed over to Mission Hills Park to let my son play in the water feature the other night. He had a blast, and so did I. Lots of kids were running through the water. All I could hear were the carefree screams of kids on summer break.
The Mission Hills Park water feature area is quite impressive. Some areas have misters, others have sprayers, pipes that dump bucketfuls of water, and shooting fountains.
The ground is that spongy-rubberized playground material so bare feet won’t slip, burn, or get cut up.
Probably the best part about the Mission Hills Park water feature is that there’s no admission, and it’s hardly ever crowded at any one time. This is a great place to take your kids to cool down on a hot night.
Mission Hills Park is located at College and Mission Drive.
