I think you have the playoff tie breakers wrong. If all three teams win (Rancho, Valley and Desert Pines) then Rancho gets the 3 and Desert Pines the 4. 1st tie breaker is head to head and all three teams split. Next, it goes to the 13 point rule. So, Rancho beat Desert Pines by 10 and lost to Valley by 1 meaning they are +9. Desert Pines beat Valley by more than 13 and lost to Rancho by 10 so they are +3, Valley is +1 against Rancho and -13 against Desert Pines so they are -12. Therefore, Rancho is the 3 and Desert Pines is the 4.
I have to comment about Rancho. Given Coach Dick has not had his head on straight this season. But their win against Desert Pines was not a fluke. I know no one noticed but there was a difference in the offence that game. A different starter at the running back spot. Plus "WHEN" Rancho beats Eldorado. Which they will cause I don't know how you guys came up with Eldorado winning. I heard of grasping for straws but come on that's just rediculous. Now the Valley game that was a fluke. That should not have happened that was Coach Dick's game to lose. He chose to sit his best Running Backs on the bench that day. Oh well can't go back now. But as far as the seeding goes it will be by NIAA rules
1. Las Vegas
2. Canyon Springs
3. Desert Pines wins tie breaker with 25 points
4. Rancho next seed with tie breaker 9 points
5. Valley loses tie breaker with -34 points
6. Eldorado
7. Chaperal
8. Sunrise mountain
Since the three teams beat each other. The first set of rules is out because they would still be tie. So you have to go to who lost and won by more between the two teams.
Desert Pines beat Valley 35-0
Rancho Beat Desert Pines 37-27
Valley beat Rancho 35-34
Valley has the lowest margin of victory and the largest in defeat.
And actually SE_fan is correct I forgot about the 13 point Max. So yeah that would put Rancho on top
Shadow Ridge will beat Mojave. The way Shadow Ridge blitzes will cause Mojave problems due to their poor line play.
Gang: It appears our playoff breakdown is off. I sent an email Monday to the NIAA to get the official tie-breaker before posting anything else. I will let everyone know as soon as I hear back. As I said in our podcast, you need a math degree from Harvard and a miracle to figure out the 13-point scale. It does appear Rancho as the No. 3 seed and Desert Pines at No. 4 is accurate if all three teams win. Thanks for keeping us honest and supporting our coverage.
Anybody see that Mike Williams kid from Eldorado play? The game recap sounds like he was the difference maker and in the photo with other players he looks like a 30 year old. How good is he?
I'm glad CM filled in to play Spring Valley where Western left a hole, even though SV will lose it's one more game those kids will get to play and they'll appreciate that.
