Las Vegas 28, Del Sol 17
Palo Verde in driver's seat to win Northwest Division title after topping Cimarron.
Palo Verde 29, Cimarron 19
A good old-fashioned slugfest between these two smash-mouth teams. The winner will most likely end up the Division champ.
Palo Verde 24, Cimarron 21
Chap always beats Green Valley in every sport. At least that was the case when I was a Cowboy in the early 1990s.
Chaparral 23, Green Valley 21
Welcome to the 21st century Brewer. Your Cowboys are not what you remember.
Green Valley 28, Chaparral 14
Basic has its way with another Northeast opponent.
Basic 32, Eldorado 12
Wolves are certainly looking like a playoff caliber team already.
Basic 25, Eldorado 14
Valley gets into the win column.
Valley 33, Coronado 15
I continually get burned by picking Valley. Here's to a little more self abuse.
Valley 21, Coronado 14
Liberty freshman Niko Kapeli is the real deal. So are the Patriots.
Liberty 33, Canyon Springs 18
Liberty has certainly been quite the surprise this season.
. Liberty 20, Canyon Springs 17
Foothill rebounds after lopsided loss to Palo Verde.
Foothill 33, Rancho 13
The skid continues for Rancho, despite facing a battered Foothill squad.
Foothill 24, Rancho 10
Silverado wins third straight game against inferior Northeast Division opponent.
Silverado 35, Desert Pines 15
I really like Desert Pines, but that loss to Basic haunts me. Prove me wrong Jaguars.
Silverado 31, Desert Pines 20
Bonanza wins second straight league game.

Desean Martin and Sterling Sprau -- enough said.
Bonanza 35, Desert Oasis 21
Durango's running back Mora is one of the valley's best secrets.
Durango 33, Clark 18
You have to love that pre-game fight dance.

Gorman will never get better playing this easy schedule.
Gorman 40, Sierra Vista 0
Another Gorman rout. Yawn.
Gorman 42, Sierra Vista 7
Spring Valley too much for rebuilding Western.

Cheyenne will do anything to not let its name go into the Faith Lutheran record books.

Every game is a must-win if Centennial wants to reach the playoffs.
Centennial 24, Shadow Ridge 12
Will the real Chris Henderson please stand up?.
Centennial 17, Shadow Ridge 10
Pahrump Valley breaks double digit losing streak with close win.
Pahrump 15, Mojave 8
In the Mr. Irrelevant contest of the night, I'll go with Mojave just to mix it up.

No pick for Arbor View and Legacy in the Battle of the Bulls?
i have no idea when chap dominated green valley. gv was ranked #1 in state, went undefeated, and won the championship when i played. not sure about the ONE year you must be talking about. :-)
wow I see Arbor View and Legacy don't count
Battle of the Bulls
True Rebel: Chaparral beat Green Valley in 1992 and 1993. Green Valley beat Chap in 1994 and destroyed everyone in 1995 on the way to reaching the state championship game. Jon Denton and Wade Perkins were awesome on that team.
My bad on the Legacy-Arbor View game, which should be one of the best this week. It was an oversight. I will take Legacy to win -- but it will be close...Have fun on Thursday night!
If Brewer is taking Legacy I'll take Arbor View
Will the real Chris Henderson please stand up?.
I know that he didn't exactly have a great offensive night against Green Valley, but he did have 12 tackles. In a losing effort against Arbor View, he had 196 rushing yards and last week in there first win of the season was all over the stat sheet....274 passing yards and t tds...70 rushing yards and an interception that was taken back about 70 yards.
At what point would you say that the real Chris Henderson is standing up?
You hit the nail on the head stinsoc.
Which one is the real Chris Henderson?
Against Green Valley there was no offense, but against Arbor View he was off the charts. You can't count Faith, since they are basically still a 3A.
So which Chris will come out against a Shadow Ridge team that I think will make it pretty competitive on Thursday?
If he puts up another monster night on Thursday then everyone will know who the real Chris Henderson is.
Cimarron-Memorial should put up a good game against Palo. Shame that it's on a Thursday, it would be packed if it were on a Friday. Should still be a great game though!
dont count Del Sol out so fast. They're still the team to beat.

@ Ray Brewer
GV did not destroy everyone in 1995...
Actually GV beat Cheyenne in 1994 to go to the State Championship game. It was a rainy game in GV and we (Cheyenne) lost after a bothced long snap on a punt.
In 1995 Cheyenne returned the favor to GV and destroyed them at their own game. Cheyenne, a team that ran the ball 95% of the time, threw the ball all over the field against the Gators. Jason Scmitt, the QB, was 6'7" and had never been asked to throw the ball, until that day. He had well over 300 yeards passing. We had a lot of speed and I think it was more of throw the ball as hard as Jason could and let one of our speedy receivers run underneath it.
GV may have destroyed Chap in 1995, but it did not beat the Desert Shields...the worst mascot of all time.
Good point Reagan. It was the fall of '94 when Green Valley reached the state championship game. Denton graduated in the spring of 1995. I graduated in 1994 from Chaparral and Green Valley dominated my Cowboys in the fall of 1993. Thanks for reading brother!
Hmmmmmmm so far it's Del Sol is on top of las vegas 21-6, but i'll refrain from celebrating too early this time
hmmmmmm guys, Going into 4th quarter 33-6 DEL SOL
We have some great hard working boys at Del Sol, and tonight they did what I knew they were going to do all along! I look forward to viewing the Thursday Night Lights Trophy at DEL SOL. GOOOO DRAGONS!
BTW Ray, Chap graduate 93 here. Good times.
Stinsoc...what a game by Chris Henderson. Looks like he came to prove he is one of the best in the city.
And Burn, it's official. You may now celebrate!!!
Thanks Charlotte I think I will! WooHoo! and by the way I played and went to State for Chap Class of '92. Keep up the heart Del Sol! I'm Proud!
Ray,
Chap beat us (GV) in 1992 but in 1993, GV was undefeated until they were upset in the first round of the playoffs. We beat Chaparral at Chaparral in the last game of the season 28-20.
@regean21
I was at that game and when our top running back who was killing you guys went down towards the end of the 3rd quarter with GV comfortably ahead, then you guys went on a tear. You blitzed every down knowing our running back was out and you guys put up like 4 or 5 touchdowns to take the lead and win the game.
