Brewer vs. Hinckley

the winning team from prep contests

Las Vegas High has the valley's most balanced offensive attack with running back Reggie Bullock and quarterback Emir Lopez leading the charge. But the Wildcats aren't nearly as effective defensively. That will spell trouble against a Palo Verde team which scored 50 points last week to win the Sunset Regional title against Bishop Gorman. The bottom line is that Palo Verde has too many weapons, and too much speed, for an outmanned Las Vegas squad.
Palo Verde 43, Las Vegas 16

Las Vegas
vs.
Palo Verde (at Arbor View High School)

The city's two most dominant programs meet for the first time since the 2005 state semifinals, which Las Vegas won 6-0. Expect this year's game to be higher scoring as both squads have outstanding offenses. The Torin Harris-led Panthers move on to the state championship.
Palo Verde 26, Las Vegas 24
