The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association has cancelled the Big Time Sports 24/7 1st Annual High School Senior Bowl originally scheduled for Dec. 13.
The game was supposed to feature the top 35 players in Southern Nevada to gain more exposure from college scouts, but the NIAA does not allow All-Star events during the school year, according to Wade White Jr.
White, the president and CEO of Big Time Sports 24/7, said he is taking legal action to recoup his losses in planning this event.
The NIAA is holding its Board of Control meeting today in Reno and could not be reached for comment.

I don't believe you can have a "1st annual" anything.
What I can't believe is why didn't anyone know about this rule beforehand? Not sure who the blame is with on this one, but two things should have happened: 1) Wade White should have cleared this with the NIAA before going through with the planning phase of the event, even though it is not an NIAA-sanctioned event... and 2) the Southern Nevada Football Coaches Association (SNFCA) could have checked with the NIAA as well, but just like me and everyone else out there, I'm sure they didn't think there would be any harm in having this event -- and that is why they gave Wade their blessing to go forward with this event.
In the long run, the NIAA is hurting the kids here. They should get as much exposure to college coaches as they can, and this event would have been a great step in that direction.
Just when you thought that our state can help out our kids, you have a decision like this by the NIAA. Not allowing this during the school year because why? I would like to hear NIAA's logic on this one. I hope Mr. White recoups all his money , and I as a parent, apologize for our associations lack of smarts, please try to make this event happen at another date that they will accept.
Way to go NIAA, way to let the kids of Nevada down.
I agree with all of you. In Hawaii we have an all-star game to help the island boys get some kind exposure. And the event is like 2 weeks after the championship game. I know the NIAA has an all star game way after the year has past and school is out, but what help is that to these young men. They really can't play in that game being is so close to college camps and practices. The NIAA seems to be hurting the kids more than helping them. Plain and simple just let the kids play. Just because you (NIAA members) sucked in sports doesn't mean you have to take it out on these kids. I'm just saying....Hey Mr. Steve Silver I got a story that I would like to see. The number of players that played for the ISLAND WARRIOR PROGRAM. I know a bunch of the kids that made the all-sunrise region, like Tala Atimalala, Genesis Faga, Sage Nua, Kerrois Berry, Julian Yearwood, Eric Tuiloma, Shawn Murray and a couple more came from that program. Maybe a write like that or about polynesian players here in the 702. Just a small request...lol...
