For several Mountain West fans, it's their school's next best chance for a winner in a major sport this season.

Anyways, the league is currently gathering media votes for its preseason poll, preseason all-conference team and various other honors. Here's how yours truly voted. Figured we can have some discussion in the comments section below.

Let's discuss ... below ...

As for former Rebels running back Frank Summers ...

Frank Summers, who was a driving force for the UNLV offense over the last two seasons, was placed on injured reserve by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday afternoon. This, in effect, ends his rookie season after the defending Super Bowl champs made him a fifth-round pick in April's draft.

In response, the Steelers re-signed veteran Carey Davis, who was one of their final players cut at the end of training camp.

Who knows what the future holds for Summers in Pittsburgh? According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's report, head coach Mike Tomlin dubbed Summers' back injury as "mysterious."
