More casinos are turning to the all day, all-you-can-eat method to draw visitors to their properties.
The MGM Grand is offering an all-you-can-eat pass for breakfast, lunch and dinner for $29.99 per person, Monday through Thursday. The price for Friday, Saturday and Sunday is $39.99. Prices without the new pass are $13.99 to $27.99 for each meal.
Those who sign up for the players club at the Stratosphere will be eligible for the all day buffet pass for $19.99. The price goes up to $24.99 on Sunday mornings, and also Friday evenings for the seafood buffet. Regular prices without the deal run $11.99 to $20.99 per buffet stop.
The Excalibur in February began offering unlimited, all day access to its buffet for $25. The Luxor has a deal that packages its buffet with tickets to Criss Angel’s “Believe,” and includes access to other amenities.

What a great idea! Shows that there are some creative folks in the business today!
strip buffet's are really that much for a meal alone? wow
How much food can...better yet...should you eat in a day. I always found no matter how much or how little you pay for a buffet...you ALWAYS over eat. Though considering what a standard meal morning, afternoon and night might cost you at a diner....this price seems a bargain.
I'm stuffed... The line in the Excalibur is huge with this deal but then so are the people in line.
Any frequent eaters notice any diff in the food?
$ issue made the steak a little tougher or the shrimp smaller yet?
If you eat more than once a day at the Sahara Buffet-you're gonna need to be air lifted to the UCLA medical Clinic.
Can we say Pork Pig deal? Americans love to get fat, errr, eat!!
Buffet food - YUCK

my strategy was to eat only 1x/day with a very light starter in the morning at Starbucks or Seattle's Best. I really tried not to overeat but when you visit a casino buffet it's tough not to go through the full program.
This said, I noticed that after 1 month in Vegas I piggened-up, despite all efforts not to do so. I was never actually feeling that hungry despite my limited buffet visits. Hard to imagine that people can go 2x or 3x/day and not blow up like a pancake or a popcorn bag. The diet doctors will like this idea as it will definetely create more business models for the people that returned back to their real life after 2-3 weeks in Vegas.
i'm losing 5 or 6 lbs before i go at end of august, but i only weigh 119 now and eat a buffet 2 or 3 times a week. if you walk it off like i do about 4 or 5 miles a day you won't gain weight. i'm 63 years young. when i get to vegas i plan on eating the 6 lb. 2 foot long burrito at nascar cafe at sahara and getting the free t-shirt and 2 free roller coaster ride tickets. yum yum
This the best way I can think of to keep the player in the casino all day.
$10.00 for each meal. This is going to catch on for the tourist and some locals.
It's good for the (2)night stays. Just like a mini cruise ship meal
Precisely why 2 out of 3 Americans are obese. Disgusting.
Personally after a buffet for Brunch at around 11am, i found i didnt need to eat again until nearly 9pm, and i still didnt want another big meal.
This comes from a fat man. I would rather have Quality over Quantity.
But as a way to get people to stay on-site at the casino's it just might work.
$29.95
1) 417 types of jello
2) Greasy, dripping, nasty Fried chicken
3) 39 types of pies made with hog lard
4) 7 helpings, cause I want my monies worth.
$1,429 for the 2 year Jenny Craig program to get all the fat off
$13,032 for the hospital because you got a stroke
$77,320 for the divorce because of the split and "other cutie"
AH!!!! SUCH A BARGAIN $ 29.95!!!!
MGM is pathetic. They are the worse company in the valley. Hope they lose their aces when City center is completed. Oh, that's right the rag heads in the middle east have already bought most of it. MGM = dumb gready company!!!
las vegas buffets are great the prices are right
las vegas is the greatest city in the world i cant wait to come back it has everything a man could want hey should legalize prostitution though what do u think
Vegasinsider, you need to learn how to PROOFREAD your comments BEFORE hitting the SUBMIT button! it's GREEDY!! And I believe that these all day buffets are a step in the right direction to bring our town back to the basics of what made it fantastic, cheap rooms, cheap food, free drinks and free quality entertainment in the lounges, lots of flesh and loose slots! Vegas baby!!
Cheap Food...Cheap Rooms...A Fair shake at the tables...30 years ago that was what made Vegas..
We got the food and room deal...How about a fair chance in the casino...Go Vegas
I remember the old days (1995 or so) going to the Palace Station buffet on Monday nights. Cost was maybe 7 or 8 bucks, but you could find 2 for 1 coupons if you looked. Ribs, Shrimp (peeled!!!), Steak, etc. and Bananas Foster for dessert. Used to pig out with my work buddies. Ate at Luxor buffet a couple weeks back (partially comped with room), not bad, not crowded on a Tuesday, but I don't feel the need to "get my money's worth" like when I was younger. I can't imagine needing to Buffet for 3 meals. There's so many dining choices away from the casinos we like better.
I think this is a good idea from two respects....first, it may help a casino such as MGM keep a patrons dollars in their own building rather than going multiple places..secondly, it would allow someone like myself who does eat the buffets to eat three reasonable meals rather than trying to economize and stuff myself at one sitting avoiding spending big $$ 2-3 times at multiple places. One thing for sure, it is just an option, the original method is still available and MGM isn't putting a gun to my head forcing me to eat there rather than just a healthier diet of fruit from the grocery store (believe it or not.. Vegas has them too)
For the price a fitness club membership would a more healthier diet.
I'd much rather go along with a meal plan that gives you sit-down dinners at the coffee shops, delis, moderate priced restaurants. If you want 3 buffets a day, join the service.
And for the homeless, we have the Monday buffet at Railroad Pass Casino. Over 55 eat for $4.58. Total. Not exactly gourmet fare, but decent grub. Hand carved Roast Beef, too. Haven't gotten acid reflux or diarrhea, too. I see a lot of people together, maybe fellow employees or a neighborhood eating there.
Check it out, Henderson, we have to pay for the overpaid Fireloafers somehow.
I think they will have an effective marketing tool when they have an all day pass good at all MGM MIRAGE properties. Then people can wander around but stay inside corporate boundaries.
Boomer 111....you make me laugh....but GOD how true!!!
